She could win the nomination, but I don't see her winning the General.
I don't see a lot of men lining up to vote for an African-American woman.
That includes African-American Men, Hispanic men and White Men in Ohio, Michigan and Pennsylvania.

Kamala Harris would be an awful general election candidate.
Hails from liberal california, a state many Americans see as out of touch and too fringe.
Wouldn't connect to midwest white people in manufacturing jobs.
Would scare suburban voters turned off by trump (who voted hillary) into voting for him or third party because of her very left wing econ platform.

The best bet would be Tulsi Gabbard of you just have to have a woman.
I go on libertarian and left dominant message boards. The smart decision is go with Tulsi for more liberatarian votes. She would also score well with progressives because she supports enough of the policies they like.
The Bernie Progressives are not going to come out for a Clinton ie Establishment Democrat. They are tired of holding their nose to vote for them. They are tired of being shoved a candidate that the establishment wants and told they dont have a choice.

Kamala is an Establishment Democrat. Look past the race/woman factor. She is only on board with some of Bernie's policies because the Democrats know that if they dont push for some of his agenda then nobody will vote for them.
I think this board has a tendency to center the South as the Focal point of the US when that's not the reality. The states Democrats need to fight for are Michigan, Pennsylvania, and Ohio.

You're missing the point. American presidential electoral politics is no longer about winning an increasingly small middle.
Everyone who can be convinced has. It's about turning out your base. That is why Trump won in 2016 when Romney and McCain lost. That is why Obama won. That is why Trump cannot win in 2020 without substantial work on the wall being complete. That is why Harris is a threat.
