A) that's what Marxists do, confiscate property from non-allied producers.
B) what this is really about is to remove his ability to defend himself through confiscation of assets in the upcoming criminal trial.
* it's what the feds do to all non-allies, big & small, either confiscate your assets and/or bankrupt you before starting your trial and then force you to plea and testify in another trial saying whatever they want about whomever they want. In the meantime you will be in solitary and moved from DOC facility after facility deprived of food (because in transit), deprived of sleep (suicide watch), and kept in a stress position during transit (for corrections safety) to get around rules regarding torture. They will do to you what we weren't allowed to do in Gitmo.

And how many other real estate people will find this law to be too risky to do business in NY? There has been a steady stream of wealthy people and businesses fleeing NY for more business friendly states like Texas and Florida for other reasons and this just adds to the reasons to leave.

I can't help but wonder if the basis for this "over valuation" was the baseline of the tax assessor, which is what many, stupid, people use to try and determine value.
And don't forget a valuation is more detailed and nuanced than just an appraisal. A valuation can include many more things (e.g. growth potential).

If the lease is recorded in your local recorder of mortgages, then it’s enforceable against 3rd parties, such as a government entity or bank that seizes the real estate or a new buyer.
