I have never seen someone get above 50% for only having mental health. Do they do that?
Yes, and sometimes undeserved but not always. I'm a disability examiner myself, though I won't tell you what you have to say to get a higher percentage. Sadly most of the exams are sent to contractors outside the VA who vary widely in the quality of their exams. Some do a good job and others it is clear they barely talked to the Veteran. I typically spend at least an hour interviewing someone, more if it is their initial claim. Of course, I usually get the more complex exams that have to be seen by the VA.

As a long time member of the Ft Bragg military community with the 82nd Airborne, I can tell you that we were, 99% of us, livid when Biden changed the name to Fort Liberty.
Furthermore, my old (very elite) unit was invited back, after 40+ years, this past May to march in Division Review (was blessed to meet Pete Hegseth personally) and I talked to A LOT of current and former members .... and every single one, except for an active duty black woman with the rank of Major, were happy that it was back to being Bragg.
A bunch of us old late 60s and early 70s guys .... it was a rare honor. We were a helluvan Airborne Unit.

I say we auction off naming rights to bases like we do stadiums and arenas. Let the highest bidder slap their name on the sign out front of these joints and use the money to pay down the debt.

You are going to see a rise in those numbers even in the group you listed. It wasn’t just infantry being exposed to toxic burn pits, it was everyone no matter their job

This plus 20 years of war plus numerous deployments for anyone who did more than 4 years. Those numbers are going to go way up.

HUMINT was my MOS but I got sent to the 101sr and embedded with air assault in my first deployment.
Second deployment I did with jsoc assisting ranger recon prep and cordon for delta/seal etc raids

This was 9 years ago but when I saw psych for the 20% portion of my 70% I spent like 30 min with one guy and that was it.

Are you functionally retarded.
The deal is implicit when you sign up for the military at the outset of 3 hot war zones.
I got a 20,000 signing bonus too do you feel owed some of it bro? How about a portion of my undergrad degree from uga since I used the post 9/11 and your recruiter didn’t sit you down and explain all this to you. Should I cut a fourth off for you?

Not surprising, unfortunately. I can only control the quality of my work, and I always want the Veteran to feel they were listened to. Of course, we as examiners have no control over what a rater ultimately does with our assessment.
eta: as for your 20%, you can always request an evaluation for an increase.

Was the recruiter closed the day you wanted to enlist?
He’s one of those badasses that would punch a drill instructor in the face if he bowed up on him. He was “too tough” to sign up…LOL.

I dont think they will give me anything higher than a 70% I have tried to get my 50% raised which is an actual injury sustained from a particular air assault drop that degrades cartildge between two of my spine cores. They wont raise that past 50% and wont give me opoids either so I have to see a GP to get my percocet.
As for the 20% I could ask to see if they will do it but they just send me 90 ativan every 3 months when i talk to the psych lady online

The math they use for the total is odd. You get 100% of your highest rating, then 50% of your next highest rating, and then it gets weird.
It’s always worth a shot as long as you’re comfortable talking to someone else about your trauma(s).
