Nazis were the national socialist party in Germany.
When people vote again and again to give their government more and more power over them, you get socialism. Once the government gets all that power, it’s much, much easier to make the jump to a dictatorship, and that’s when the left starts pointing fingers.
It’s the socialism that allows the dictatorships.

The left’s best argument is that Nazis were the right because they fought the communists in Spain and Russia. Not that Franco was necessarily “right” but the fight with the Russians was territorial rather than ideological.
