I think they protest-eth too much. They have the docs and everything they wanted from them. Possibly, they can't use them in a trial, but were they ever really expecting to go to trial?
Now, they can say they can't because the mean Trump judge won't let them show the evidence, blah blah blah.

So it's heinous for a judge seen as "pro-Trump" to rule in his favor but it is wonderful and greatly judicious for a Trump hating judge to rule against him? Got it!

So what happens if a special master is indeed appointed?
The special master reads everything the FBI took, then DOJ gets to continue reading it? Seems like if "we really got em this time" that it shouldn't make much difference.
If on the other hand this is all smoke and mirrors - like the last ten Trump "scandals" - it makes a lot of sense to appoint a special master.

The bigger news is Judge Cannon arguing that the Special Master may be able to review for executive privilege.
This thing will likely stall out in the courts and the supreme court will knock it down if it even gets that far.
