South Africa isn't our problem either, yet so many are advocating Trump to step in?

No, they are advocating for Trump to prioritize them as immigrants rather than pump in thousands of street shitting Somalians into places like Iowa and Maine.

Enemy of my enemy... not trying to annihilate Israel... a pain in the arse to Russia... has substantial ethic support across several borders that are unfriendly to us.

why not?

I’m wondering why you aren’t starting threads though, about Myanmar’s slaughter of the Rohingya or other areas where one group of humans is massacring another ?

Because Myanmar doesn't border Israel. If it did, OP would be advocating our troops stay there for 100 years.

Hey wait. But Erdogan is screaming about the killing of a Saudi Citizen in the Saudi Embassy who was a terrorist sympathizer and hater of his own country.

Ergodan would never do such a thing. Lol.

More concerned about the Syrians and Iranians.

No. Pulling all of our troops out of the middle east is a great idea.

Why are we even there?

We should at minimum stay in our own hemisphere of the globe.

The moment we leave Erdogan will invade NE Syria with his jihadist thugs and slaughter tens of thousands of Kurdish- soldiers and civilians alike. It will be a massive betrayal of a key US ally that will be terrible to watch.

And it’s none of our god damn business. Assad isnt asking for our help. If we weren’t making a living out of toppling governments and nation building over there, we’d never need to cooperate with the Kurds.

This is a Syrian-Turkish-Iraqi problem. A regional problem. How about we let the sovereign governments of those nations handle their own affairs as they see fit?

We aren’t going to ever do a thing to a single Turk. They’re actual allies, not a quasi organized ethic clan who use our weapons out of political expediency

I know your motives are good. But your error is believing that you can actually achieve the long term outcome you want. It never works out that way. Sometimes you let them sort it out and you focus on domestic issues of far more importance.

Very true. It’s almost as if we’re involved over there, not for ourselves, but for some other country....

Not saying haven't...

... saying with goal to help create their own small state, maybe a forward US base for us, and let them keep fighting ISIL instead of us having to start all over again. Conflict over there is generational and we're at best going in piecemeal. Like it or not we have a not going away enemy in the region (radical Islam).

What you got?

Keep arming them, assist with intel for the good Kurd forces, wipe out the bad Kurd forces, pressure Turkey to the extent that we can.

Wish them luck.

Not Our Problem

Exactly, at what point do we just let these neanderthals wipe each other off the face of the earth? The world would be a better place without them. Hell, maybe we could send all the bleeding hearts to fight for them. Our country would be better off. Win/Win

I have been labeled a neocon and support our response to 911, Saddam's violations of his agreements after the first gulf war and ISIS, but at some point it has to end. It's not as if we can't respond if need be.

Just take the restrictions off of Israel and let them do as they see fit.

Israel won’t do a damn thing. Maybe some air strikes, but they aren’t doing the leg work. And never have.

And besides, Israel bombing for targets in Syria and Iraq without permission on a regular basis is going to cause problems, especially for Egypt, Jordan, and Lebanon
