Aren't you a lawyer? Pardon me if I'm wrong.

Either way the article states why it's fake. Reading comprehension and all that....

Pretty much.

Do people hate other people solely because of the color of their skin? As stupid as that is, yes, they do. Absolutely.

But this is as fake as the day is long.

Leave him alone. He is still working on his fake Republican schtick.

So he tipped her a penny and she reacted by creating a fake racial incident. I wonder how she reacted when her next table of black patrons probably didn't even tip her that one cent?

This very well could be fake, but the difference between the "real" and "fake" receipt appears to be one is itemized and the other is not. Customers typically get both. Some even mistakenly fill it out thinking it's the merchant copy.

Also it was said the original receipt was printed after the restaurant closed, but the time stamp says it was on 1/7/2017 which was the date of the incident. If it was ineed 01 am (instead of 11 am) when the receipt was re printed wouldn't it be on jan. 8th?

Ultimately the only way to prove the legitimacy of the claim would be to take it to court and have several handwriting experts testify to the authenticity (or lack of) of the receipt.

This article doesn't really prove it to be false though.

I'll always tip the minimum.

There are several things out of the server's control that could lead to below average service: Slow kitchen, other tables, etc.

I have no way of knowing what really happened, but I wouldn't expect the lawyer for the customer to say anything but that the note was fake.

Black folks, white people don't talk like this. If you're going to make shite up, be realistic.

Believe it or not, lying to get money on GoFundMe isn't illegal as long as it is understood you will be keeping the money for personal benefit. I can start a GoFundMe page for any made up life circumstance as long as the donators understand I'll be keeping the money.

Now if she sued the person or said the money would be donated, that's a different matter.

Either way she's a bitch

If you're dumb and brazen enough to write something so egregious on a receipt then I would expect you to be dumb and brazen enough to claim it as yours with pride.

Normal people don't do things this impudent.

The fact this customer went to the expense of hiring an attorney to clear their name tells me they are likely being set up.

Obviously that's not definitive proof but it does prove this individual cares about their reputation. Something that probably wouldn't occur to them if they were shameless enough to leave that message.

It says reprint right on the receipt. Did the guy drive back to the restaurant after hours to write that?

When will the media stop falling this con game?

1. They're not falling for it; They're promoting it.
2. They believe this is how most of America thinks.
3. They really don't, but they want America to think this is how America thinks.
4. Racism sells
5. Liberalism needs rampant institutionalized racism to survive.
