After reading the article, I have ZERO problems with the actions of the paramedics. The lunatics wanted to have a cop-free zone, and this young fellow was wandering around in it when he got shot at 2:00 AM. Too bad

quote:

Paramedics are being accused in court papers filed Wednesday of leaving a teenager “to die” after he was shot on the edge of Seattle’s lawless autonomous zone — which was so dangerous, the fire department said it needed a police escort just to enter.

Lorenzo Anderson, 19, was shot several times on June 20 last year right outside of the city’s Capitol Hill Organized Protest (CHOP) area — a seven-block “autonomous zone” that sprouted up amid Black Lives Matter protests after the police murder of George Floyd in Minnesota, the claims state.

At the time, the area was overrun with anarchists and self-appointed security guards who were policing the area with semi-automatic weapons and wouldn’t allow police to enter after 10 p.m., the claims state.

After the police curfew, a 911 call came in for the shooting of the special-needs teen. At the time, a Seattle Fire Department ambulance was approximately two blocks from the crime scene and police were stationed about a half-mile away, the claims allege.

Any judge worth a shite would toss this as soon as it hit their desk. In Seattle, this kid's family is gonna get paid.

CHOP denizens did them to themselves, shoulda had medical care and field hospitals ready to go. Oops.

I thought it was nationwide that fire and paramedics did not enter areas that were not safe without police protection.

The CHOP didn't have their own EMS?

Paramedics weren’t sure they were welcomed on autonomous soil. Could have led to a declaration of war. They did the right thing.

Being oppositional defiant and needing ADHD meds isn’t really “special needs.”

Just guessing though.

"Left teen to die" assumes the paramedics were there in the first place.

I thought I read that EMS was obstructed in getting to the scene. Perhaps I misremembered.

I remember when this happened.

If I recall right, the kid was mentally handicapped and some friends dragged him along (or convinced him to come) when they robbed a couple people at gunpoint in the CHAZ.

Believe it was the CHAZ's "security" that tracked the robbers down and ended up shooting the kid.

Sad situation all around but if police had been there patrolling and/or if the fricking mayor and governor had done anything to stop the anarchists, (i.e. national guard) then this never would have happened.

Where I'm at, that shite would never, never happen. Even if we did have a completely soy governor, which thankfully we don't, then the common man here would band together and take it back ourselves in short order. The farmers, ranchers, hunters, outdoorsmen and firearm enthusiasts here are MUCH scarier than the national guard.

I'm pretty sure that paramedics, just like cops, have zero legal obligation to help anyone.
