I realize that Putin is a lock to get reelected, but after this massive attack his efforts to paint the war in a good light before the vote has to take a massive hit.

He is supposed to be planning a large draft. Will this debacle hurt those efforts? I could see it going both ways.

Yes!

The Russian MOD claims to have downed over 1100 drones last night. Some of Ukraine's drones get through because the Russian AD systems have been overwhelmed. It takes a massive wave of mixed types of drones and missiles to create the effects we saw last night.
