More on the recent Patriot battery delivery to Ukraine. These were not the ones with the 8-10 month delivery timeframe, but the Israeli donation being refurbished in Germany. Timeframe checks out and this means another battery to be delivered early next year.
quote:
"By the end of that week, a PATRIOT air-defence system and more interceptors had already arrived in Ukraine, thanks to a deal with Germany."
Unlikely that Ukraine received an additional PATRIOT battery from the Bundeswehr, but the ex-IDF battery, undergoing refurb, had still been due for delivery. I suspect that is the source of this additional battery.
Israel's PAC-2 configuration batteries are a mix of ex-Bundeswehr and US Army. Germany & the US should continue to work together to get the remaining batteries restored to operational condition and delivered to Ukraine.

If tweet fails to load, click here. Real wages, not income, not GDP. Not (looking at Spain, Italy, the Netherlands) liveablity either... This tells us more about where these countries were in 1994 than today. Thus the three Baltic State's massive jump.

That's a pretty graph but what does it have to do with the "Russia-Ukraine Conflict"?
Are you getting paid for posting on here?
EDIT: I just went back and looked at the last 3 days or so of your posts on here and I think it answered my question. You're spamming this thread with links to propaganda sites. Not cool.

This is true I was also expecting Ukraine to launch some kind of counter offensive like they have in previous years. The fact they didn’t just adds to my concerns that manpower might finally be starting to become a serious issue for them.

Yes, both sides are exhausting their manpower and their resources. I believe with a few exceptions, Ukraine right now is limited and can not go on the offensive. They have to play defense.

Lithuania to allocate $32 million toward joint purchase of Patriot missile systems for Ukraine
July 26, 2025 7:58 pm
Lithuania plans to contribute up to 30 million euro ($32.5 million) toward the joint purchase of U.S.-made Patriot air defense systems for Ukraine, Lithuanian public broadcaster LRT reported on July 26.
The U.S.-built Patriot systems are a vital part of Ukraine's layered air defense, capable of intercepting ballistic and cruise missiles and providing protection against large-scale strikes on cities.
A complete Patriot system with interceptor missiles costs upwards of $1 billion.
The announcement came during a visit of Baltic defense ministers to the United States, where Lithuanian Defense Minister Dovile Sakaliene confirmed the country’s intention to support Ukraine’s air defense capabilities.
Sakaliene’s pledge followed her meeting with U.S. Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth, where the countries discussed deepening security cooperation and support for Ukraine.
Lithuania has been a steadfast ally of Ukraine in many areas since the start of Russia's full-scale invasion, including through humanitarian initiatives, military aid, and diplomatic efforts.

You are correct sir.
Others have been banned for doing the exact same thing. And they should have been banned.
Cope is getting out of hand. He has gone full on Keith Olbermann.
But sadly he is defended by the majority on here.

And there lies the problem for Ukraine. Russia has always operated by the land over lives mentality. With Ukraine having limited to no offensive capabilities Russia will keep slowly taking land until they decide they have had enough.

Yes, but there is a point where Russia like the US in Vietnam says enough is enough.
The question is will Ukraine surrender first or will the war continues until Russia says it’s enough.

Can they keep them supplied with munitions is what I'm wondering. Haven't been paying terribly close attention for a little while, but last I heard this was an issue.

That's certainly their intention. But drone warfare has brought that plan to a very slow, extremely expensive crawl.

If ukraine falls back to the new [trench] line it's 5-14km depending on the location... the new line has been built for the last 18 months...

That puts the front line only 68km apart from the 2014 start line

So kyiv is about 600 km away.. and at 1 million dead per 60km thats another 10million dead russians....

And to get to Lviv... at this pace is 183.... years...

We can see that this ground war is secondary as neither side can defeat the drones. So the Russians have changed tactics. After defeats in Afghanistan and the First Chechen War, Russia is currently following their playbook established in the more recent Second Chechen War, the Russo-Georgian War and the Syrian Civil War. This is to attack the civilian population and destroy every urban area. The common effects of these wars are severe civilian casualties and a huge exodus of refugees from the targeted countries. Attacks on hospitals, schools, shopping centers and old age homes are designed to accelerate this process.
The nightly Russian long range drone and missile attacks will only increase if the West doesn't give the Ukrainians long range cruise missiles to destroy the production capacity of these weapons. The US clearly does not have the political will to do this, so everyone has to depend on the Ukrainian production of long range drones currently under German supervision.

Damn, make it happen Erdogan.

On July 22, at the international arms exhibition IDEF2025 in Istanbul, the defense ministers of Turkey and Azerbaijan signed an agreement on strengthening military security. This is not the first such agreement: the military alliance between Baku and Ankara was fixed in 2021 in the Shusha Declaration. On July 23, the Turkish newspaper Yeni Safak, close to the entourage of President Erdogan, directly raised the question of the need to enter the Turkish army into Azerbaijan, ostensibly to protect against the Russian invasion.
A NATO base may soon appear near the borders of the Russian Federation. But not in Ukraine or in Georgia, where we have long been afraid of this, but in Azerbaijan. This was reported by Caliber.az, which experts believe belongs to the administration of President Aliyev. The publication proposes to place a NATO base in the Khachmaz district of Azerbaijan, near the borders of the Russian Federation, as “radical deterrent measures” of Russia. Such a step, in his opinion, can be taken on the basis of the existing Individual Action Plan for Partnership (IPAP) between Azerbaijan and NATO. Another Azerbaijani official publication Minval synchronously made a similar publication.

At least 6 killed, 20 injured in Russian attacks across Ukraine over past day
July 27, 2025 11:18 am
Russian attacks across Ukraine over the past 24 hours killed at least six civilians and injured 20 more, regional authorities reported on July 27.
Ukraine's Air Force reported that Russian forces launched 83 drones overnight, 78 of which were taken out by air defenses.
In Sumy Oblast, Russian forces conducted nearly 70 attacks on 33 settlements, using guided bombs, FPV (first-person-view) drones, and drone-dropped explosives. Two civilians were killed by a landmine in the Esman community, while two others were injured in drone strikes across Hlukhiv and Sumy communities, the regional military administration said.
At least four municipalities reported infrastructure damage, including damage to administrative buildings, markets, and houses.
In Kherson Oblast, Russian forces shelled and drone-bombed over 30 towns and villages, Governor Oleksandr Prokudin reported. Eight people were injured, including a child, due to strikes on residential areas and infrastructure.
On the morning of July 27, an additional three civilians were wounded in separate Russian attacks. Damage was reported to several houses, apartment buildings, vehicles, and agricultural structures.
In Donetsk Oblast, two civilians were killed and at least three were injured in the Pokrovsk and Kramatorsk districts, Governor Vadym Filashkin confirmed. Russian attacks damaged houses, shops, and industrial facilities in multiple towns.
In Dnipropetrovsk Oblast, four people were injured after Russian forces attacked the Nikopol district with heavy artillery, Grad rockets, and drones. Residential houses and power lines were damaged, Governor Serhii Lysak reported.
In Zaporizhzhia Oblast, Russian troops launched 810 strikes on 12 settlements, including 26 airstrikes and hundreds of FPV drone and artillery attacks, Governor Ivan Fedorov said. Two civilians were found dead under the rubble of a destroyed house in Stepnohirsk, where a rocket strike had triggered a fire.

I spoke with President of the European Commission Ursula
@vonderleyen
. We discussed many issues: Ukraine’s European integration, further strengthening of sanctions against Russia, and the functioning of our anti-corruption infrastructure.
We talked about the bill that guarantees the independence and effectiveness of Ukraine’s anti-corruption bodies. I thanked the European Commission for the provided expertise. We share the same vision: it is important that the bill is adopted without delay, as early as next week.
I spelled out that Ukraine continues to implement the necessary reforms to receive financial assistance under the Ukraine Facility mechanism. Today, I signed laws on the reform of the National Agency of Ukraine for Finding, Tracing and Management of Assets Derived from Corruption and Other Crimes (ARMA) and on factoring. Ursula acknowledged the progress in fulfilling the relevant indicators.
I thanked her for the adoption of the EU’s 18th sanctions package against Russia, especially for the lowering of the price cap on Russian oil. Ukraine continues synchronization with the European sanctions. All 18 packages are in force in Ukraine.
We also discussed the steps needed to open the first negotiation cluster on our EU membership. We will work on this as quickly as possible.
