Jackpot: Russia’s largest oil refinery, the Omsk Oil Refinery, has suspended operations after a Ukrainian drone attack, Reuters reported. Sources said the CDU-10 crude distillation unit was damaged, while CDU-11 was shut down after supporting infrastructure was hit, disrupting about 75% of capacity.

These refineries have a lot of crude units for their size as if they were built with 1901 technology. Not that cost effective for normal operations.

Damn, 9 more tankers last night in the Sea of Azov. 21 Russian vessels hit in 72 hours including 19 shadow-fleet tankers.

Zelensky: Ukraine is quite rightly responding to Russia for its attacks on our country and for prolonging the war.
Today, our long-range sanctions have reached the Saratov region, Tatarstan and Bashkortostan, the distance from the front line is about 800, 1400 and 1500 kilometers.
Also – to the Voronezh region, which is about 300 kilometers from our border.
The Saratov oil refinery was hit. The SSO soldiers hit the oil refinery in Tatarstan. Russians should feel that their state is waging this war.

It seems clear that a page has been turned.
- Three more refinery hits last night
- Nine more tankers hit in the sea of Azov
- Video released of 200 trucks blown up already in July in or around Crimea
If the mid-range campaign stops all shipping through the Sea of Azov and isolates Crimea from logistical support, and if the long-range strike campaign cripples the Russian economy as Russians can no longer buy gasoline, how is Russia going to continue the war? A mobilization won't fix those problems.
This was CNN two days ago on the fuel shortages:
Almost every Russian region hit by fuel crisis, as Ukraine escalates drone attacks
In theory, Russia could handle a 20% drop in refining capacity. In reality, there's a normal system of distribution, and the refinery strikes have wrecked the normal logistics of which fuel goes where. So, there are some locations that still have plenty, while others have none.
EDIT: When we are talking about this: - Nine more tankers hit in the sea of Azov, it should be clarified that these are smallish "river tankers" involved in Russian internal logistics, not shipping oil to other countries for export.

Moscow — Almost all of Russia’s 83 regions are seeing gasoline shortages or reported disruptions to supply, according to a CNN analysis, with many gas stations imposing rationing as the Russian government races to get ahead of a ferocious campaign of Ukrainian drone attacks targeting its refineries.
The fuel crisis, which escalated first in Russian-controlled Crimea and prompted a state of emergency and a full ban on fuel sales to ordinary people on June 21, is now reaching across Russia’s 11 time zones.
CNN analyzed official statements from regional mayors and governors as well as national and local media reports and found more than 50 of its internationally recognized regions officially reporting supply problems, with unofficial reports of disruptions in almost all of them.
quote:
Ritolia estimates Russian gasoline production is currently running at around 20% below domestic demand because of the Ukrainian strikes, with refinery runs (the amount of crude oil refineries are processing) at multi-year lows.
“In this race between the repairers and the attackers the balance is shifting,” said Sergey Vakulenko, who spent 25 years in the Russian oil and gas industry and is a senior fellow at the Berlin-based Carnegie Russia Eurasia Center think tank. He noted that Ukraine had not only increased the frequency of attacks in recent weeks, but also the number of drones used. “The Russian oil industry’s resilience is being stretched dangerously thin,” he wrote in a recent article.

I pointed this out that they had about the same capacity as an inland barge in the USA. They are not built to even sail in the Black Sea.

If you can't see a difference between Trump's wild swings on issues and merely listening to someone and adjusting based on information I don't know what to tell you. The latter should be celebrated, the former should not.
I agree, very much. Trump's opinion is simply "what the last person who talked to him and flattered him beforehand told him." That's how Netanyahu got him to attack Iran... twice. Every other US President passed on the same pitch since the late 90s, in Trump's first term it was headed off by advisors a couple of times... he doesn't surround himself with anybody who knows more (or will argue with him) anymore, so here we are...
And that doesn't change the fact that he hates being on the losing side of anything. Which is why he's soured on Netanyahu and Israel for getting him into a mess that is much more complicated to extricate himself from than he was led to believe.

The situation in Crimea is more interesting to me in the short term than the oil situation. Things are deteriorating there quickly.

"He hates being on the losing side" and "he changed his tune on Ukraine because he thinks they are winning" are two different arguments.
If he just flip flopped on things so he isn't on the losing side he could have easily changed his tune on Birthright citizenship since it was clear he was going to lose that one. There was a lane he could have taken where he said "actually it would be better if we got Congress to change it and close loopholes instead of just dumping it". Instead, Trump sat in on the case, which will be one of the things throughout history that will be remembered about his presidency.
