More instability in the Kremlin, as it's now confirmed that Russia's Deputy Minister Denis Butsaev fled the country on April 18.

Prime Minister Mishustin signed Butsaev's resignation letter after his departure, on April 22.

Butsaev hastily left for Minsk, and from there, to Tbilisi, eventually landing in the United States.

Butsaev's flight sets a precedent and could lead to increased scrutiny of officials' movements. This, in turn, will further escalate the conflict between the security forces and the bureaucracy.

@DenShtilierman

Only the third of May, and the Unmanned Systems Forces already have a massive report for May. They're actively shredding enemy air defense, logistics, and handing out tickets to Kobzon on an industrial scale. In particular, FP-2 drones destroyed: Pantsir-S1 short-range air defense gun-missile complex — settlement of Novyi Svit; Tor SAM system — settlement of Markivska; P-18 type radar — settlement of Sofiivka; electronic warfare unit of the "Rubikon" subunit — settlement of Mariupol; electronic warfare unit of the "Storm" subunit — settlement of Kamyanske; electronic warfare unit of the ROV — settlement of Stepok; telecommunications center in the city of Mariupol; 6 air traffic control complexes, enemy subunit repair base in the settlement of Kadivka. Thanks to SBS for the incredible cooperation.

"May air defense downfall has begun: 2 SAM systems, 2 radars, 6 ATC complexes, Rubikon and Storm EW units, telecommunications center in Mariupol, etc.

Fiery Sunday greetings to Primorsky on Leningrad soil! The SOU joint operation on key bug liquor dens continues.

Using deep-strike means, SBS under the coordination of the Deep-Strike Center of the Unmanned Systems Forces inflicted a series of strikes on military facilities in the TOT of Donetsk, Zaporizhzhia, and Luhansk regions, in particular:

• EW unit of the "Rubikon" subunit, settlement of Mariupol, TOT of Donetsk region, 9th Battalion "Kairos" 414th Brigade "Madjar's Birds"

• EW unit of the "Storm" subunit, settlement of Kamyanske, TOT of Donetsk region, 9th Battalion "Kairos" 414th Brigade "Madjar's Birds"

• Enemy subunit repair base in the settlement of Kadivka, in the TOT of Luhansk region, 1 SBS unit

Next, of course, there will be more…"

Another Russian ‘Kalibr’ carrier down. Major General Yevhenii Khmara reported on the successful strike against targets in the port of Primorsk. It was a joint operation by our Security Service of Ukraine, the Unmanned Systems Forces, the Special Operations Forces, the Defense Intelligence, and the border guards. Thank you all, warriors, for your coordinated work!

The Karakurt-class missile ship was hit, along with a patrol boat and another tanker from the shadow oil fleet. Significant damage was also inflicted on the infrastructure of the oil terminal port. Each such result further limits Russia’s war potential. I have also approved additional, entirely justified responses by the Security Service of Ukraine to Russian strikes on our cities and villages. Russia can end its war at any moment. Prolonging the war will only expand the scale of our defensive operations. Thank you to everyone fighting for Ukraine!

Honest question...Exports are down but is production actually down?

It seems that actual crude oil production is in decline in Russia. It's not like there is any investment in exploration there.. This was already predicted before 2022.

ISW assesses the past month. Russian forces in a slight net loss of territory. Surveying operations is difficult considering Russian tactics.

quote:

Key Takeaways

Russian forces in April 2026 suffered a net loss of territory controlled in the Ukrainian theater for the first time since Ukraine’s August 2024 incursion into Kursk Oblast.

The relative decline in the rate of Russian advances may be related in part to annual seasonal patterns.

The rate of Russian advances has slowed in 2026 compared to 2025, but the changing character of the war, particularly Russia’s increased use of infiltration tactics over the course of 2025, makes year-on-year comparisons difficult.

The Kremlin uses Russian infiltration tactics in part to exaggerate Russian control of terrain.

ISW has reviewed and refined its mapping data and methodology, identifying and rectifying some data artifacts that did not affect the visible map geometry but did affect some calculations of area.

These changes have not affected ISW’s previously assessed trendlines of the Russian rate of advance.

Russian milbloggers identified problems with the Russian air campaign and assessed that Russian forces may not be able to take advantage of reported increased bombing capabilities.

Russian forces recently advanced near Novopavlivka and in western Zaporizhia Oblast. Ukrainian forces recently advanced in the Kostyantynivka-Druzhkivka tactical area.

Ukrainian forces likely struck a Russian air defense system during their April 30 to May 1 overnight strike against Krasnodar Krai.

Russian forces launched 163 drones toward Ukraine overnight.

Russia hasn’t gained. Will summer change things?

"Technical overpass" is something I've never heard of. Looks like an expansion loop to me. Looks like some piping is being replaced and little actual damage. The other doesn't show anything because it won't stop loading.

Not needed during normal operations. What is that little building, a small maintenance shop.

While there is definite damage, it doesn't look to be crippling at all.
