It's a tale as old as time. Autocratic leaders always end up surrounding themselves with yes men; whether intentionally or not, as there is a weak merit incentive based system.
So their hard data about their own countries capabilities and potential becomes less and less useful and accurate over time.

I refuse to believe any of this pro-defense of Ukraine news out of the White House. More talk while Putin lobs missiles at civilians. It’s a shameful time in our history imo.

Shameful was the previous 4 years of Joe and the Ho that allowed this all to start in the first place.

Well.well.well.
Truly a shocker.
Sorry Cope. Your dreams have been dashed.
Looks like Mertz chickened out. Putin threatened them and they cowered like a dog.
Bad day for Cope and Ukraine.
And this coming from a member of those wonderful European allies that some of you always brag about.
Have to say it, but I told you so.

Are any of these bad things?
When you consider this in light of our competition with China, its telling Russia the price of being Hostile to NATO.

Cope is digging up multiple articles/posts on Trump right now that he will binge post this morning around 2:00 am.
The way he was melting after Trump's announcement today you know that this round of binge posts are going to be TDS gold.
Then he had to find out his dream of Taurus missiles was crushed.
Die Deutschen haben Cope enttäuscht.
Cope had a tough day.

I swear, if Trump said something against AIDS, people would be supporting it

Other than 12 Patriot batteries (not just missiles) Trump is holding the cards very close to his chest on what is being sent. The Patriot batteries can be deployed in places other than cities now. This makes them offensive weapons able to shoot down Russian jets well beyond the front lines.

Let's watch this closely for developments. Purely defensive weapons to save the lives of women and children. Does Putin tell TACO to refuse the request? If it doesn't happen, it would be for no other reason.

Trump considered sending Tomahawk missiles to Ukraine last month, but for now, they’re off the list, The Washington Post reports.
Not surprised at all. What a joke. TACO "escalates just to de-escalate". That a nice way of putting it. To call a spade a spade, TACO is a coward who thinks he's clever by trying to manipulate the media like this. But it will bite him on the arse. It's starting already with articles like this increasing in number every week.

In a country where one can go to jail for criticizing Putin’s policies, a well-respected Russian economist Abel Aganbegyan spoke up about the pathetic state of the Russian economy.
Please see a few takeaways from Aganbegyan’s speech below or watch the video where he goes into further very interesting details.
“Because for 34 years of the existence of the new Russia, according to Rosstat our GDP has grown by 37%. 1% per year. In comparison to 1990. Developing countries grew 3 to 6 times. India 8.6 times. China 13 times. While our [economy] grew by 37%.
According to all international ratings, including welfare and economic indicators, we have gone down greatly. Innovation-wise it's just a disaster. After 2020, out of 1658 “unicorn companies” worth more than one billion dollars at the beginning of 2025, not a single one is in Russia.
Out of the 2,500 large innovative commercial private firms in 43 countries where €35,000,000 and above is spent on research and development, only 3 are in Russia.
Our number of robots is 19 per 10,000 workers. In South Korea - it's 1014. In other developed countries it's 200 to 600.
We have 7 supercomputers while China and the USA have 150 each.
Where can we get innovative firms from if the main source of their development is venture capital, which in 2021 was 3.4 billion and now it's 270 million dollars? Not 3.4 billion.
Our global share of high-tech goods and services is 1.3% and in exports it’s 0.3%. With such indicators, there can be no growth.”
The hubris of the Mafia State. With an economy the size of Italy's (in 2021) and corruption being the National Pastime, they decide to take on the NATO nations in an imperialist invasion straight from the 18th Century playbook.
The English language needs to invent a new word that is a descriptor of such massive stupidity and self-delusion. Let me think... Ok, how about 'Russian'.

TACO stated he's sending 12 Patriot batteries? Or did he suggest that other countries donate their Patriot batteries?

Either Russian media commenters are getting it or the Kremlin propaganda is full circle becoming true -

“Trump once again slapped the lips of the Khokhlols with his d*ck.
After yesterday, everyone expected some shocking statements: about billions of arrested frozen assets of the Russian Federation, about a huge number of weapons for Ukraine, about the adoption of the most significant package of sanctions in the history of the United States and about the fact that Putin made a big mistake by fooling Trump, and should pay for it.
Yeah.
And what do we see in the end? Some statement about how he once again, OH GOD, is extremely dissatisfied with Russia and threatens to introduce some f*cking tariffs in 50 days, which Russia and Russians as a whole don’t give a frick about.
And in 50 days he will postpone these tariffs for another 50 days, and so on indefinitely. He looks like a windbag who threatens to f*ck your mouth, and backs off when he meets you face to face, but promises to punish you sometime later.” -
