Azerbaijan protests to Russia over Kyiv embassy damaged in Russian missile attack.

quote:

Azerbaijan's Foreign Ministry said on Nov. 14 it had summoned the Russian ambassador to voice a "strong protest" over the Azerbaijani Embassy in Kyiv damaged in a Russian aerial attack.
quote:

Baku has drawn attention to repeated cases of its government buildings or business assets being damaged in Russian attacks against Ukraine.

An honorary consulate in Kharkiv suffered damage in March 2022, and the Kyiv Embassy itself was damaged in August this year. Russian attacks also struck an oil depot of the Azerbaijani Socar company in August.

The Azerbaijani side told Russian Ambassador Mikhail Yevdokimov that "all these facts raise questions about the deliberate nature of the missile attacks."

Ya think?
quote:

The relations with Russia soured after Russian air defenses downed an Azerbaijani airliner over Grozny in December 2024, leading to the deaths of 38 of the 67 people on board.

Russian President Vladimir Putin's initial reluctance to acknowledge responsibility prompted backlash from Aliyev, with relations further strained by Russian attacks against Azerbaijani-linked facilities in Ukraine and a crackdown on Russian state media in Baku.

Only in October did Putin acknowledge that the airliner was damaged by Russian air defenses, after which Azerbaijan released the detained head of the Russian state-run media outlet Sputnik's Baku bureau.
Damn, the Azerbaijanis are taking a page from the Kremlin playbook.

THE 'BEFORE' VIEW: This is the S-400 Regiment that faced Ukraine's Neptune Missiles Last Night.

Following confirmed reports of a major Ukrainian strike on Novorossiysk (Nov 13/14), we have the "Before" imagery of the air defense shield for this critical port.

This high-res view from Nov 11 shows the 1537th Red Banner Air Defence Regiment, which was tasked with protecting the area (including the BSF piers and the oil terminal).

The Assets: We can see 7x 5P85S2 TELs (S-400 system) deployed. The Context: This site has a complex history (a huge h/t to @benreuter_IMINT for the detailed analysis and history lesson). This S-400 battalion only recently returned to the site after it was temporarily downgraded to an S-300PM2.

This is our baseline. Reports claim the attack, which used Neptune missiles, struck both the oil terminal and an S-400 launcher. Now we wait for the "After" (BDA) imagery to see what was hit and how effective this S-400 shield truly was.

Republicans turn on Trump’s defense policy chief

Administration allies say they are fed up with the Defense Department’s third-most senior leader and his foreign policy surprises.

quote:

Pentagon policy chief Elbridge Colby has succeeded in the rarest of feats: uniting a dysfunctional Washington against him.

Some of President Donald Trump’s strongest supporters are accusing him of icing them out of the Pentagon’s most consequential decisions. Foreign allies are privately bemoaning the Defense Department’s third-most senior leader for disregarding their views. And Senate Republicans are publicly admonishing his leadership.
quote:

“You know who the hardest guy to get ahold of in the Trump administration is? The undersecretary of defense for policy,” Sen. Dan Sullivan (R-Alaska) said. “He came to [the Senate Armed Services] committee and said, ‘Hey, I’m going to work with the Congress.’ He hasn’t — on big issues.”
quote:

Colby is the intellectual standard-bearer for a GOP faction that argues Washington must focus its military power on deterring China, even if that means scaling back in Europe and the Middle East. He has spent years warning that over-investing in Ukraine weakens readiness in Asia. His critics — including many traditional defense hawks — argue that this approach risks emboldening Russia and undermining longstanding U.S. commitments abroad.

But that friction led to concerns this summer from parts of the White House and among allies that he was acting largely on his own accord, especially in halting some shipments of air defense missiles to Ukraine.

Fellow Republicans say they’ve been blindsided by a slew of decisions influenced by Colby that they oppose. Prominent lawmakers, such as Senate Armed Services Chair Roger Wicker (R-Miss.), have warned the Pentagon is undercutting national security with moves to remove U.S. troops from Romania, conduct a Pentagon review of a major nuclear-powered submarine pact, pause some Ukraine assistance and slash aid to the Baltic nations.

Colby doesn't consult with anyone on his unilateral and unsanctioned moves and Congress members have a cure for that.

What are the trends telling us?

Is Ukraine acting more like someone winning a war, or a cornered animal?

The disinformation coming from both sides is off the charts. Basic, verifiable facts have told us this is trending a certain way for several months now.

The war is going to be over in four more years? 5? 6?

You tell us because the trend has been months and years of a stalemate.

And what verifiable facts are there that leads you to believe that the war is nearing completion?

Ukraine had next to no power in the winter of 2022/23. Lots of small generators though.

I heard the Russians have their donkeys infiltrating Ukrainian towns so they can destroy the generators by kicking them

Wonder if the ukranians miss those 100s of millions of dollars that were given by the US for fuel that zelensky stole........

quote:

Yes, many Ukrainians face problems sourcing fuel for generators due to extensive Russian attacks on energy infrastructure, which have caused widespread power outages and damaged Ukraine's own gas and oil production

So the Russians had the foresight to not only take out the plants, but the fuel sources that power the plants......and generators.....hmmmmm

Im sorry, its just like a ditzy blonde, when the power goes out and she cant use the electric stove.....no problem Ill just use the microwave.

Recently, the US strengthened ties with Central Asian nations all once part of Russia. There is now a newly named Donald Trump Highway connecting Armenia and Azerbaijan.
