Syrian President Ahmed al-Sharaa and Foreign Minister Asaad al-Shaibani seen earlier arriving at the White House, entering via the entrance to the West Wing, unlike most foreign heads of state who are greeted and enter at the front of the White House. Both are now in a closed-door meeting with President Trump — bared from the press — with it not known if the two leaders will hold a press conference after the meeting to discuss developments between Syria and the United States.
Ok, we can now expect TACO to get the Russian bases in Syria re-opened.

That's 2.5% - 1.3 trillion Rubles - issued as loans in one month.
This is clearly not to increase liquidity as these non-financial firms are not required to use these loans for purchase of REPO government paper. They are loans, not bonds. The funds will get back into circulation, but more slowly and without Finance Ministry control. That means inflation will increase even higher and even faster.

London orders PrivatBank oligarchs to pay Ukraine $3bn for largest bank fraud in country’s history
The ruling finalizes an eight-year pursuit of losses equal to 1.5% of Ukraine’s GDP, though collecting the money won’t be easy.

The ruling finalizes an eight-year pursuit of losses equal to 1.5% of Ukraine’s GDP, though collecting the money won’t be easy.
quote:
London's High Court finalized a ruling requiring oligarch Ihor Kolomoisky and his partner Hennadii Boholiubov to pay PrivatBank over $3 billion in compensation and legal costs.
The 10 November ruling marks the culmination of an eight-year legal battle that began when Ukraine nationalized the country's largest bank in December 2016 after discovering the oligarchs had siphoned approximately $5.5 billion—roughly 1.5% of Ukraine's 2014 GDP—through fraudulent loans to shell companies.
Ukraine spent billions recapitalizing the institution to prevent systemic collapse, a burden that fell on taxpayers while the oligarchs' assets remained largely intact abroad.
The judgment represents the largest banking fraud recovery in Ukrainian banking history, though enforcement remains uncertain given the complexity of the corporate structures and multiple jurisdictions involved.
quote:
PrivatBank stated the oligarchs must pay by 24 November 2025, with interest accruing afterward if payment isn't made. The bank plans to pursue forced collection through the oligarchs' assets if they don't pay voluntarily.
But the court document notes that applications for appeal permission must be filed by 24 November, meaning no concrete final payment date can be established yet.
The oligarchs' assets have been under a worldwide freezing order since December 2017, when an English court issued an order for the worldwide arrest of their assets.
In February 2025, Ukraine's National Security and Defense Council imposed sanctions on both men, blocking their Ukrainian assets.
quote:Of course, always the friendly Austrians and their friendly Austrian banks and their friendly Austrian prosecutors. Geld spricht.
Kolomoisky has been in Ukrainian custody since September 2023 on charges of organizing contract killings and fraud. The BBC reported that a Kyiv court extended his detention until 14 December 2025 on 16 October. [He's seen his last daylight...]
Boholiubov left Ukraine in June 2024 using what investigators claim was an invalid passport. Journalists later discovered he's living in Vienna.

Ukraine's Air Assault Forces report number of Russians present in Pokrovsk
Yevhen Kizilov — 11 November, 12:38
Russian forces have intensified their efforts to infiltrate Pokrovsk in Donetsk Oblast from the south, with more than 300 Russian soldiers currently in the city.
Source: 7th Corps of the Air Assault Forces, which is defending the city
Details: According to the Air Assault Forces, over 300 Russians are currently in Pokrovsk. Their objective remains unchanged – to reach the northern outskirts of the city and attempt to encircle the agglomeration.
Quote: "In recent days, the Russians have intensified their attempts to infiltrate Pokrovsk using light vehicles through the southern outskirts. To do this, they have taken advantage of unfavourable weather conditions, including thick fog, which reduces the effectiveness of our aerial reconnaissance and precision targeting in open areas."
Details: The defence forces, however, continue to detect and destroy Russian groups within the urban area even under low-visibility conditions.
Since the beginning of November, Ukrainian troops have killed 162 Russian soldiers in Pokrovsk and wounded another 39.
Various branches of the defence forces – the Unmanned Systems Forces, assault and air assault units, Special Operations Forces, the Security Service of Ukraine, the National Guard, and the National Police – continue to take part in clearing operations in the city.

Ag, I'm genuinely curious. Maybe I'm wrong, but based on your posts I get the feeling you're pulling for Russia in this one, can I ask why?

You can guess why he doesn't like zelensky... but let's use his last 3 posts not in this thread to remove all doubt

If tweet fails to load, click here. Increasing recent immigrant numbers of Ukrainian men aged 20 to 25 from other European countries show this to be true.

Meanwhile, the non-kinetic sanctions continue to chop at that Ru budget -
