Its woke as F though

quote:

The pseudo-sequel to "Captain Marvel," which sees Brie Larson's eponymous superhero team up with Iman Vellani's "Ms. Marvel" from the Disney+ series of the same name, opened to a franchise-low $46 million before dropping 78 percent during its second weekend in theaters. It appears positioned to be the first MCU film not to crack $100 million at the domestic box office during its entire run.

HHHHMMMMM.....

But it has a Moslem female lead so boxes were checked.

Even if it’s not woke, it’s still pagan worship, imo. Grown arse people go to watch mere men with some hoped for pretend power. Same unrealistic shite that little kiddies pretend about. Never understood the attraction.

I’m not a fan of comic book movies.
Much less a woke chick comic book movie.
But $46 mil seems like a good opening?
The headlines make it seem like it made no money period.

I have quit going to the movies. I don't want to support Hollywood anymore. There are better things to do with my time and money.

How much did it cost to produce the film? My guess would be a lot more than $46 million.

For a super hero film, that’s low. And I hope it gets lower with other releases. What built these brands up were the men folk. Most women didn’t give two craps about comic book stuff growing up. And most still don’t. If they do, they just want to see one of the guys lol!

It’s the name of my cat slo fro. But yeah I get your point, I’ve watched a lot of sci-fi, so I’m guilty, I think the super man bullshite is still dull.

Try some Angel Studios films. Most are pretty good and they are Christian based. I like most of them. But I did not care for their latest...about near death experiences.

Those grown people are arrested children - physically grown, but emotionally still children.

It cost over 300 million to make. So it hasn’t made any money. It has to make 254 million more before it profits a single dollar.

Cost almost $300 million to produce. Probably well over $300 after promotional and advertising is factored in. Studio doesn't get the full box office receipts, it's split with the theater. So yeah, this is a huge bomb.

For a Marvel tentpole movie that cost over $300 mil. to make, not including marketing budget?

Estimates were that they'd have to gross between 800 and 900 million to break even. They won't even come close.

At this point, I'd like to see some class action lawsuits by stockholders of these companies for openly and repeatedly ignoring their fiduciary duties in favor of social virtue signaling and DEI.
