The feds were pushed by the public to release it - knowing that she had clients in Hollywood and DC and the list was explosive. It supposedly included individual fetishes and Fleiss girls were open to 'bring out the gimp' stuff like eating cat food while getting pissed on, etc
In the end Charlie Sheen stepped forward and took the headlines. I think i remember Billy Idol did too (just to get press).
Case closed - no other names were released. Internet wasn't what it is today and despite demand, the fed and MSM closed the book.
Sheen got 2 1/2 men later that year and studios gave him the largest TV contract in the history of Hollywood at $2m an episode.

That's the problem with trying to bullshite people. When you've flopped around this much it no longer works and all it does is bring attention to the issue that you really want to just go away.
They'd be better off just never mentioning it again, but that's not really how Trump does things. He's compelled to respond to criticism, and reporters know it. They'll be slinging Epstein bait for days if not weeks.

Also, for the record, the "release" is gonna have to have some balls. A 2 page memo enraged everyone. Another 2 page memo will probably further splinter them.
If there's no list and suicide is assured, you're gonna have to sell it. Because as of right now, everybody's bullshite-sensing meters are off the charts.
