LAGOP "turned on him like they did on trump".....you live on Mars? trump got 72% of the votes cast.

I think he’s referencing the state’s dysfunctional party apparatus.

2- Rispone’s campaign ran a shitty ground/GOTV effort, and his platform was basically “I like Trump”.

This.

The Louisiana Republican Party has never been a factor in winning or losing a governors race. Campaigns for governor in Louisiana are won and lost by the candidates themselves. Blaming the LAGOP for 2019 is ridiculous.

That is not to say that changes could not be made in the future to make it relevant. New leadership is definitely called for. However, 2019 was no different than any other year. The LAGOP has NEVER elected a governor. EVER!

The person who lost the 2019 Louisiana governors race is Eddie Rispone. Ralph Abraham was a terrible candidate, but Eddie Rispone was worse. He just had more money. His out of state consultants robbed him blonde and stuck us all with JBE. The funny thing is that Rispone still does not see it. He blames Louis Gurvich and the LAGOP. That fact in and of itself is proof that he is delusional, part of the problem and needs to go away.

Rispone along with Lane Grigsby are the La GOP. They are the establishment.

I cringed when his out of state consultants convinced him to do that b/c it set up the result that ensued.

Running a commercial to tell us you have a Trump sticker on your pickup truck is barely a notch above “carrying hot sauce in your purse” as far as cringe-inducing pandering goes.

You mean 2019 when the late New Orleans vote dump gave JBE the narrow victory?

Even if we believe there was funny business in Orleans Parish... it never should have come to that.

Rispone lost in Jefferson Parish. He lost in St. Bernard. Trump won both of those parishes in 2016 AND 2020.

However, wasn't he one of the first, and likely the most vocal, poster in 2014/2015 trying to warn everyone not to fall the for the "conservative Democrat" line that was being promoted about John Bel Edwards??

That was me.

Sentrius said that JBE had no chance and that Rispone had the election sewed up. After JBE “won,” he changed his mind.

Sentrius is a hard core RINO supporter.

its rather obvious the LA Governors election was a full scale trial run with dominion before the presidential election.

they knew LA was going to be red for the presidential election. But LA has a knack for electing Blue governors. perfect time and place to test out the algorithm in the real world.

They knew that the ship was sinking, and instead of doing something to mitigate the circumstances, they simply rearranged the deck chairs.

The LaGOP is a joke of an organization.

I’ve been a Republican for 4 decades (and have NEVER voted for a Democrat - ever), but I’m about to go “no party“.

The Republicans aren’t actual conservatives, they are just swamp (bayou) creatures content on the ship easing beneath the waves. frick them.

“Are you claiming a Rispone funded alternative would be a better choice? Because he did so well in 2019.”

This never would have been an issue if Landry had the balls to run against JBE in 2019. He pussed out, and now we’re left with more time with the sloth.

I think the argument goes...

They have been a joke of an organization for decades, so no one should be surprised when they are a joke of an organization relative to recent elections.

We will never know, but I don't think Landry would have made the runoff... unless Rispone didn't run in that scenario.

Demographics are changing and one day those two parishes will flip in a presidential race as well

Read again. 2015. Rispone was 2019.

I believe Sentrius was on here during the open primary season for 2015 warning that JBE was not some moderate and was 100% in favor of Vitter rather than siding with Dardenne and Angelle camps.
