Los Angeles Mayor Karen Bass withdrew from a crucial mayoral debate just days after a televised forum that viewers felt Spencer Pratt had handily won.

Bass pulled out of a Los Angeles mayoral candidate forum scheduled for May 13 that was set to air on FOX 11, according to a statement released Saturday by the organizers.

Bass' withdrawal came shortly after Pratt was praised for his performance against Bass and Nithya Raman, a local lawmaker who is a member of the Democratic Socialists of America, during a televised debate on Wednesday.

The problem is this works for democrats, keep Bass off the stage/TV and she’ll be out of sight out of mind for any bad moments.

They’ll still vote for her in droves

I guess we will find out if this is either:
The collapse of her career
or
Her trying to sit on a lead by kneeling instead of risking another fumble.

It's Los Angeles, so I'm gonna guess she will still get re-elected despite all the general frick ups and reservoir/fire rebuild issues.

She would have gotten smoked again in the 2nd debate but luckily I think skipping it is going to be even worse for her.

Never thought id live long enough to see “conservative” Americans supporting a vacuous reality star like Pratt.. not in any way to endorse Bass.. as with many things in life, two things can be true- they can both suck.. yet some people still feel the need to align with Pratt .. It’s where we are .

Blame the left for lying, cheating, and stealing for years. Blame the left for not only turning a blind eye to the craziness, but encouraging it.

What exactly is your issue with Pratt's political views?

CBS has gotten the word to promote her, without needing her in a debate, etc.
Like Biden and his basement in '20

That place is as corrupt as Hillary Clinton. I don’t think he’s going to win. But all of this attention is very good to see and very important.

Nothing in particular.. i wasnt criticizing his “political views”.. i was commenting on the fact that this is a guy (Pratt) who i am old enough to remember being on reality teevee and being all over the media as a loser and an embarrassment to American “entertainment”.. and now we have Republicans/conservatives/Magas/Libertarians/Whichever title you identify as- supporting this person like he’s some ultra-successful role model.. it’s just weird, was my point .

I know this is going to be hard for you to wrap your mind around but "reality tv" isn't in fact reality - It's entirely scripted

DANG SON - aint that something.

Ya dont say ? So then professional wrestling isnt real , either ?? Holy shite, guess you learn something every day .

Then allow me to rephrase, if you’d be so kind- Pratt played the part of a complete zero, and loser, to perfection on scripted reality shows that i only caught bits and pieces of circa 10 years ago- but enough to know that this is a guy id never vote for .. i hope that explains a little bit clearer what i was trying to say .

Nobody is saying that. Pretty sure the consensus is he's got some common sense views (get homeless drug addicts off the street), excellent campaign videos, and he's not Karen Bass or Gavin Newsome. Thats a way better candidate than CA puts up and even if he doesnt win it will be helpful to press the fire, homelessness, waste and corruption issues.

No one is saying they want their kid to grow up to be Spencer.
