I know it doesn’t matter to them. This is why everything is voted along party lines with a few select that are paid to flip flop either way. It’s like they all take a turn literally fricking the common people. Voting doesn’t matter anymore.

Gurvich and whoever else is in top positions of the party need to go. You don't let this happen period. You make sure you have the votes if you are going to a special session. Now the repubs just look like a bunch of can't get anything done asses.....so nothing new

I don't think they necessarily wanted it to fail but I think they are 100% okay with it failing for the reasons you described. If they succeeded then they could have said "look what I done". Grand standing is usually enough though, so they'll take the W either way.

One thing the LA GOP politicans have in common with the DC GOP politicians, is that they would rather campaign that they will do the right thing, instead of actually doing the right thing.

They are more concerned about winning elections / raising money, and less concerned about actually leading.

Exactly, it was all planned. Waste tax dollars and get hopes up for nothing. LA Republicans need to be run out and replaced. Stagni was probably ready to get out and was paid a lot for his vote.

We need to dig up the threads from the 2019 elections where this board was bragging about how this "new conservative LA legislature" was going to keep JBE in check. That it was going to be different this time, damnit!

Does this also avert the NFL / Super Bowl issue? That is: NOLA will get it’s super bowl, and they can pass the women’s sports bill after the game has been played without risk of losing it?

Disagree. They knew JBE would veto and knew they would flip votes this time on purpose. You are wrong here.

I think it's interesting that the statement from LAGOP has 4 paragraphs about the tranny bill, and 1 about concealed carry... when more GOPers defected on the concealed carry bill than did on the tranny bill.

Did LAGOP make a statement on Tuesday going after the four turncoats on that one, or no?

There’s a lot of Germans in the river parishes, which is why the area is nicknamed the German Coast. Germans brought sausage making to Louisiana. Higgenbotham, Kleinpeter, Schexnayder, Meyers, Frederick, etc

They have kept him in check. JBE cannot pass anything. He has given up even trying. Seriously what was his legislative package for the past two sessions?

I the meantime Republicans have passed tort reform and tax reform.

HOWEVER JBE can still play a hell of a defensive game.

he could pass a lot if it’s what the Republican legislature wants

It’s called political reality

More strongly worded letters from spineless republicans who will do absolutely nothing of substance.
Our government is broken beyond repair and its time for people to die for it.
