I wouldn’t think so. It was not three separate shootings independent of each other. The first shooting occurred during the act of being chased. Second and third shootings occurred as the chase continued, only with different pursuing individuals. Where would you draw the line?

I have no clue. That is why I am asking. Would it be possible to say the first shot was not self defense, but the others were? If so, how would a directed verdict work?

That’s what I’m saying. If Kyle killed the first guy because he felt his life was in immediate danger after being pursued, how would you prove he didn’t feel the same way with the pursuit continuing up the street with more people hitting and kicking him. The danger was continuous. The only thing that changed was the idiots involved in the chase. It’s unreasonable at that point for Kyle to know friend from foe. They can’t be treated independently because it was one continuous event
