They tried at the very beginning, with the opening slide, and the judge shot it down by saying you'll have your chance to talk about that.
I was not aware of this...thank you.
The defense is killing it now!! Dude is wrecking shop in the closing arguments.
GO TEAM KYLE!

ut that doesn't change that the defense attorney is struggling with this closing.
He's crushing by almost anyone's opinion but you.

This dude is doing a pretty terrible job at this closing. This is my first day watching the trial but has he been like this the whole time? He's making good points, but his delivery is really bad.
He's doing fine. This is what most lawyers sound like doing openings and closing. This isn't Gregory Peck, Raymond Burr or Tom Cruise acting on screen.

just DESTROYED the grainy drone footage with the "the position signifies a left-handed stance when he's been right-handed the whole time and if he fires it... the hot brass and fiery exhaust will go right back into Kyle's face"

Bringing up the fact that Kyle unlocked his phone but Grosskreutz wouldn't unlock his phone. If Grosskreutz had nothing to hide, why not unlock his phone like Kyle did?

Here we go, he's attacking the phone warrant not being executed.

He's calling Binger out on blocking the warrant for Grosskreutz' phone.

I mean I think Rittenhouse should be cleared of all charges, and that it is ridiculous we are even at this point, but that doesn't change that the defense attorney is struggling with this closing.
I don't think he's doing that poorly after that minor little struggle before bringing up the witnesses. That being said, people here are going to react poorly because we've had so many trolls and people swooping in that have obviously not watched a second of the trial bringing up shite that wasn't even there. The amount of times we've heard "ZOMG GUN CROSSED STATELINES" and other shite like that.

"Grosskreutz has $10 million reasons not to unlock his phone"

Richards is doing much better than I expected. He's coming across as a Wisconsin local talking most of the jury's language and delivery.

Call me old fashioned, but I don't think the gov't should lie until it's told to stop.

WHy didn't the defense subpoena Gage's texts?

Shooting down all the lies from the prosecution and media: the gun did not cross state lines, Kyle was not a white supremacist, etc.
"This has been a rush to judgement."
"This has been a rush to judgement."

I wish he would have been a bit more forceful about the state not executing the warrant but he's doing well.

a couple of times the sentence ended halfway at the bottom of the page. jesus, richards. use the page break feature in microsoft word not to continue the sentence at the top of the following page
breaks up his flow.

Which is when I made my comment. Since picking up the gun he has been absolutely on point.

That was clearly the point.
He's just speaking common sense with a typical local accent.

He sounds like a local, which is good. This isn't a very well organized close, however.

He's fumbled around a few times as he lost his place. You can tell when he's lost his rythm but he's gotten it back. He's doing very well summarizing the evidence and inconsistencies and major problems with the state's case.
