I predict the prosecution “accidentally “ violates the judge’s order for closing arguments or tries to sneak in evidence previously ruled as prejudicial.

Causing a mistrial. Again, by mistake.

I’m not sure a mistrial is a sure thing for the prosecution. They still have the same video to contend with that clearly shows this was self defense. Plus, the further removed they are from this, the less emotional it is.

Unfortunately... I'm probably going to have to miss most of the closing today due to work related stuff

I'll try to catch up when I get back.

How many times does the judge send out the jury today to talk with the lawyers?

Same, I'm in meetings all day starting in 40 minutes so I won't be able to watch. Thankfully, I'll be able to follow this thread but I'm disappointed in not being able to watch.

I almost feel like the prosecution and defense in trials in general should have a cut off of like two or three days each to present evidence and then a 30 minute max closing. They bombard and beat the jury to death with information, sometimes, completely irrelevant, and then the jury is so tired they will be quick to vote one way or the other to get it over with.

How would an acquittal and/or Kyle catching a charge work with the jury?

Do they need a majority? Just one hold out?

Imagine your life depending on 12 people off the street to understand 37 pages of legal instructions.

Judge - "I think I'll go back to bed". I think he realizes just how complex the charges are in this case.

Sat through an attempted murder trial of the wife of one of my friends. She blasted him with a .45 a few times. The jury instructions took hours.

The jury was comprised of 12 drooling, barely sentient drones. It seemed to me that they just kind of threw up their hands and said “We don’t know. I guess not guilty.”
