You are being so dishonest. That was no apology.

Agree. I'm an absolute free speech advocate.

The only question I have is "does partisanship violate some FCC regulation?" I honestly don't know. No doubt, by sheer volume, the Dems get WAY more positive/biased coverage on the publicly owned airwaves.

Does that warrant governmental action?

Your guilty of the same thing of which you're accusing Kimmel. Lying. You said that Kimmel said "disgusting things ABOUT Charlie." I haven't heard him say anything personal about Charlie....maybe he did....but your attack on me indicates that he didn't.

I was loose with my words. I should have said the way he used Charlie's murder to score political points last week only to suddenly turn around and act like he was moved by Erika's act of forgiveness, was disgusting.

Tomato, Tomahto.

since everyone overuses the term gaslighting these days, allow me to present

EXHIBIT A:

"Gaslighting": "It was really YOU who was wrong for misinterpreting what I said. I did NOT say that thing (I literally did) you think I said. You are not remembering it correctly and I'm too dumb to realize there are clips all over the internet saying the precise thing I am now denying saying"

Got it. Thanks again for posting. I retract the "liar" accusation.

They certainly do not in non-news programs, which Kimmel certainly is.

But no lawyers on this board chose to pursue that angle because it would show that the FCC had no real power to do anything to Kimmel. And that would remove the strength of your talking point.

I saw a clip this morning and did notice a lack of tears for the voice tremble.

Does he still do mean tweets or did Trump ruin it for him after 2016? It’s the only thing I’d watch YouTube clips of.

If any of what he's saying is/was true (it's not), then what was the joke that was being made?

I'd honestly love to ask him that question directly.

I thought I recalled some Equal Time clause that if they had one side on as a guest they had to give equal time to the other; even with variety shows. Is this only during campaigns?

Yes

The Dems even used it in 2015 over Trump's SNL appearance.

quote:

Trump on Saturday Night Live (2015)

In November 2015, during the Republican primaries, Trump hosted Saturday Night Live on NBC.

Because this was not a bona fide news event, it triggered the Equal Time Rule.

Democratic and Republican rivals (like Bernie Sanders, Martin O’Malley, John Kasich, and others) formally requested equal airtime from NBC affiliates.

NBC complied by offering them free airtime in major markets, though most candidates used it only symbolically.

Here’s what I don’t fully understand-

Why does DJT care about what Kimmel says, does or thinks? Kimmels rating stink

You're a smart person and I respect you. I have no idea why you think I'm being disingenuous.

I don't have "talking points." If I state a question, it's a genuine question.

I am an absolutist when it comes to free speech. That even covers lying (obviously there are other consequences to lying). So, I am not keen on any attempted governmental influence on what comedians say. I was particularly angry about the Biden attacks on Covid skeptics.

What do you think my "talking point" is?

Probably the same reason he dislikes many. They turned their backs on him when he ran and constantly lie about him.

They were friendly enough for Ivanka to go on the show and Trump to call Jimmy prior to her appearance.

I don’t think you’re being purposefully disingenuous. But if Trump had tried to pursue action through the FCC against Kimmel, you would have 50 multi paragraph posts detailing the flimsy legal framework for the action.

You can work out for yourself why that is.

Serious question...

Whose rhetoric do you think drove Tyler Robinson to being a radical? Trump or Kimmel?
