I saw a black guy drown in Gulf Shores, who was standing in less than knee deep water....he couldn't swim. A strong wave made the sand go out from under his feet. He was immediately pulled out by a strong wave or riptide. He was out there with lighting all around pre-storm and I still don't know why he and the 3 other guys thought that was okay. He went down, was pulled out quickly, bobbed up a few times then never came back up. It was horrible, it was quick and it was deadly. The guy was from Memphis and had just gotten in town on his 25th wedding anniversary with this whole family. The family was throwing up and passing out in the sand all over the place.
Black people who can't swim, or anybody who can't swim, need to stay out of the damn water....even knee deep water. Mother nature does not fool around.
Truth be known, I would venture to guess that almost the exact same thing happened to that kid, cause the rip currents are so bad on that island and very similar to all the problems that happen in Fort Morgan. Gulf Shores keeps all the drownings on the down low as not to affect tourism.

One of the most important things a parent can do is teach their kids how to swim. YMCA or DIY just do the basic steps. First teach them how to float, then they are drown proofed, then how to swim……then how to address a rip tide situation…..
I remember the YMCA classes you progressed from Jellyfish ( floating) Minnow ( simple swimming, to flying fish ( various strokes) , to shark ( underwater swimming and diving)….kids learn quickly…..

In general I like gofundme, believe it does great things for people in need
But I do wish for any accounts raising over, say, 10k the money would be managed by a third party. I’m all for helping with funeral costs or hospital bills - I’ve donated to plenty were I haven’t and won’t ever meet the people involved. Putting an extra 50-100+k in your pocket just because you have a sad story doesn’t sit right with me

The “talk” was so righteous and virtuous and perfectly supported the fiction the black community creates.

Because in south Louisiana is closer to 40-50% and in some places more.
Raising families with a segment of the population that is disrespectful and feral at best and deadly reckless at worst presents challenges that aren’t addressed with policy or enforcement. Families have to take care of themselves in these environments.

Not so fast. Crump is already setting this up for a lawsuit against the white kids' families. He'll claim they were negligent by leaving him behind and if they knew he had been drinking then that makes them even more responsible for his death.
