Landry needs to reconsider. Otherwise we won’t have anybody that’s won a statewide race running vs Edwards. Kennedy is a piece of shite btw. Thanks for throwing the party into a knife fight.

Ehhh I do not think he is a better candidate than Edwards this go round, he probably would come out of the jungle as the GOP rep but I want whoever is the best bet to beat Edwards.

What? That's a silly thing to say, if anything he did the opposite because behind the scenes his voice in the GOP will go a long way in deciding who get the nod. The people that are truly messing over the GOP are all the so called "GOP" business types that are supporting JBE and not holding him accountable because you do not bite the hand that feeds especially in Louisiana.

He in a true “insider” in the worst sense. He has been influential in getting legislation through that supports merging the depth of labor and education... ie louisiana workforce commission. His idea basically revolves around reducing k-12 education to nothing more than workforce training( maybe to benefit his business $$$ , maybe because he believes taxpayers should pay for this instead of business $$$, perhaps both). and He supports publicly funded private education. In other words, he is a public private partnership supporter and 100% believes in expanding them. This has done nothing to relieve the burden on the taxpayer... Only makes it worse. Would love to hear his position on development to see if he supports tax funded private development as well??? JBE has been a disappointment for sure but Risipne, in my opinion, would be far worse.
i'm not sympathetic to these points, but this is more of an argument than i was expecting. i don't have a problem with aligning the educational system with workforce needs better

Are you surprised the closeted Democrat did something to hurt the Republican candidates/party?
I say thank God he isn't running.

All I know is that I vehemently liked him more than Vitter.
Liking him doesn't matter.
If you call yourself a conservative, you had no business voting for someone that had the most liberal voting record in the statehouse.
Vitter committed no crime, did not abuse tax dollars, had the best platform of what he wanted to do as Governor, and was very well qualified to be Governor.

Senator to Governor is a humongous step backwards.
If there's a clear silver lining today, I'm happy we nipped this stupid trend in the bud.

The LA republicans had plenty of time to start working on someone
They were.
John Kennedy was that guy and as he and the LA GOP spent months clearing the field and now he completely fricked it all up this morning.
Kennedy created the worst vacuum I've ever seen for Louisiana republicans and handed JBE a clear advantage/win today.
All because he was happy as a pig in shite in the senate
frick him for that.

As a US Senator, he can walk through Louisiana right now and the position just drips of more power than Governor.
Well this is just wrong.

Rispone is too old to wade into politics.
He's only 69 and he's a very healthy looking 69.

This means our next governor is going to be from Mangham. North LA baw about to straighten up this clown show.

Yep.
He spent months clearing the field of potential GOP challengers only for him to drop out this morning.
And in effect, he created a vacuum that is going to be an absolute disaster for the GOP and has the potential to wind up even worse than 2015 with Vitter, Dardenne and Angelle.
What a sorry and pathetic display of "leadership" from Kennedy today. Makes me want to vote against him in 2022. frick him.

Those guys have no shot. Edwards walk into a second term

Do you think Ralph Abraham has a shot, he is the one that will be running and who they are throwing their weight behind that is what I am told and there is a lot of smoke to back that up.

Tell me why.
Go ahead.
What does Abraham and Rispone have that Kennedy, a proven winner of statewide elections in Louisiana does not?

It's less than a year before the election and the hour is late. If Abraham is going to run, he needs to announce today. For someone like him who has little to no name recognition in South Louisiana, waiting this long is deadly.
For comparisons sake, JBE and Vitter announced they were running for Governor in spring 2014, well over a year and a few months before the election.

I don’t know what’s worse
People thinking random guy named Rispone can beat an incumbent governor or your posts about the GOP
Your posts make me want to take a permanent job in Texas
