I'm telling you..the last smart thing Joe ever did was pick her. He would be out on his arse, if she was 1/4 competent.

But I'm defending her on this one. The coconut tree story (assuming face value that it's true) seems akin to falling off the turnip truck.

Yeah, but that wasn’t the problem with that piece, which was how awkward the whole thing was, as evidenced by the lack of laughter from her audience. Her body language was weird, and her point, that we exist in context, was neither reinforced by her coconut tree reference, nor was it meaningful enough to justify a minute long riff. She is just a strange woman.

Ambition and initiative. Each of them made audacious plans and worked tirelessly to achieve them. Their goofiness shows how easy it is to do if you try it.

She recalls chunks of verbage from old college texts or older professors and brings them up at random - like a stochastic parrot - and has no clue as to what she is saying.

She put da lime in da coconut and drank it all up
She put da lime in da coconut and drank it all up

She called da Doctor Jill, and said “ain't there something I can take for this bellyache?’

Dr Jill said, “go down on Willie Brown fo dat bellyache, go down on Willie Brown to heal dat bellyache”.

That made me cringe.

Maybe this has changed over time, but one of the first rules in speech class-- oh, back in 7th grade or so-- is that good speakers don't laugh at their own jokes. It's a cheap ploy that rarely engages the audience and makes the speaker seem desperate. If the audience isn't amused when it's said, move on.

When the laugh is like Kamala's, that rule should be in blazing, blinking neon on the teleprompter.

Stupid people also use laughing as a prompt after saying something funny.
In TV sitcoms it's called 'the laugh track' and is used to cover for unfunny comedy lines, prompting the audience 'what you heard was funny.'
Your dumb co-worker might say: 'Ya know why the basketball court is wet? It's because they keep dribbling on it. HA HA HA!'
The polite person laughs at him. The honest person does not and views him as stupid for laughing at his own lame joke.
