He’s doing that thing where he’s not taking a position, just pointing out hypocrisy.
(It’s clear what his position is)

This:
“has been adjudicated as a mental defective or has been committed to any mental institution.”
Does not mean
We don't allow the mentally ill to own firearms.
Its a case by case basis as it should be.
A court or doctor giving a determination that an individual is mentally incompetent or a danger to other is a reasonable exception imo but that is a very low percent of folks suffering from mental illness And less than 1% of gun violence is committed by folks suffering from mental illness. I'll post this again to get your thoughts
I dont think you folks understand how broad a spectrum of disorders encompasses the term mental illness. Years ago I suffered from severe depression and relapse of panic disorder after an attempted home invasion where 4 thugs tried to kill me.in my garage...Luckily they were terrible shots and I got away but it fricked me up mentally for a while. I already owned firearm but wanted another. I had a shrink and was on meds to deal with the panic attacks and help me sleep... I also bought several more firearms. Should I not have been allowed too?

That’s false. This is about transgenders who have shown the last few years an increase in mental illness and a huge spike in violence. The proposal isn’t for veterans or medications. We understand the slippery slope argument but you and others are making it about that instead of the violence and mental illness of trans.

quote:Indeed it is. You used the term “psychopath” previously.
Is that not transgenderism?
quote:Like I said… if you want to presume every person have any experience with gender dysphoria is a dangerous “psychopath” have at it.
Was that not the question?

100% against this.
SHALL NOT BE INFRINGED is written that way for a reason. I you give these people a millimeter of gun control, they're going for it all.

That may be what they say…but they know that’s a political answer.

quote:Exactly. But some like the take guns first due process later approach. Same people must Looooove civil asset forfeiture laws.
Correct. Honestly, it’s less about the “mental defect” part and more about the “adjudicated” part.

And posted in this thread are acting like this is the first infringement. While doing so some are advocating for mentally ill transgenders instead of states who infringe it everyday for less.

It’s time to lock up all transgenders. They deserve no rights, and should be considered a threat to America.
You'd have made an excellent and useful little Nazi back in the 1930s!

He asked for a definition of psychopath. I provided it. All that other bullshite you typed is supposition.

It’s crazy how someone on the opposite side of the aisle could replace “transgender” with a group they don’t like, and deliver an identical message.
But again, you are too deep in your cult to see this.

is this sort of like the "we've got to kill them or they'll die" argument? we should be ok with this infringement since there are other infringements?
