Under the 44th president. I was told here the president has nothing to do with cheap gas and the economy/stock market. I figure the same is true for 45 and then 46. Right?

Add you to the list of people that don't understand regulations and their effects on prices of commodities.

Yep, we are headed for significant inflation under Democrat rule.

Especially since the Fed. Reserve is printing money like crazy due to these trillion dollar relief packages.

There is still a 9 month or more glut of daw crude stacked up in vessels waiting to unload. SA just cut production bc tanker capacity is maxed up. No place to store it or transport it. The small bump is based upon the SA cut in production. Any additional increases will be based upon speculation that Biden /Congress limit production and refining. My guess is that SA cut production knowing what Biden will do in the next 12 months and that the price will drastically rise. SA lost money the last 18 months while it and Russia over produced. Oil will rise a good bit. He had part is that Louisiana’s offshore industry will not benefit from it. The regs on rigs and vessels will prohibit any real ramp up in domestic production. Fracking will suffer the same fate.

Gas increasing after that bit of news is the least surprising thing to happen in quite some time.

Has everything to do with Biden.

The first thing Trump did in his new administration was fly to Saudi Arabia and negotiate more oil production increase with Mohammed bin Salman (in exchange for military weapons).

Trump knows the key to a strong economy is low energy prices.

Biden won’t fight for low energy prices because the alternative energy lobbyists are in his back pocket and alternative energy is not viable without high O&G prices.

Fine by me because I work in O&G and positioned for any price change. People will never stop using O&G despite their feelings.

I don’t think this is so much because of Biden. Market confidence is up and oil companies hope for a rebound this year. With the hope of higher demand, they want to cash in with higher prices.

Don't argue with morons that voted for a guy who said he would move away from oil essentially killing a whole industry and energy independence.

This is what happens when the dollar falls like it has been over the last few months. Thus is the bad side of Federal Stimulus.

It's called inflation and watch what happens if Sniffer passes the 3 Trillion package he is talking about

That is why you are seeing gas prices rise.

Yep. Most posts in this thread are how rumors get started.

Confidence is up for the economy. Look at the market this week. This is due to Trump officially done as president. The outlook that the Virus will finally start to fade away is causing more optimistic views for the economy. As such, crude oil prices are rising.

In Birmingham this morning, every station posting 2.09 on Thursday is down to 2.05 this morning. If I had gone to Blountsville as previously planned, outside of Jefferson County, I would have picked up gas around 2.01 to 1.99.

No. Vaccine news, OPEC+ maintaining cuts and the Majors saying they’re not going to increase drilling plans.

I have been talking about this the last few weeks *not on here, but IRL)

we are screwed in so many areas, but especially here

energy independence has been a huge part of why our economy recovered so strongly under Trump, and we can kiss that goodbye
