Ideally, sure. But insurance companies don't seem worthy of this leeway, in my opinion.

Ideally, there'd be far fewer barriers to entry to creating some sort of co-op/mutual aid society like they used to have back in the day. As we all know, regulatory capture only favors large businesses and discourages innovation, where we sadly find ourselves paying out the arse for shitty policies.

I read that a similar tax in NYC did not come close to generating the revenue they thought it would, and caused a lot of small businesses on the margins of the city to lose business to shops just outside the tax.

But whatevs.

Well, now I know you're just not being honest. Clearly liberal policies never have any negative, unintended consequences. The only things that ever arise from liberal policies are the positive, strategically touted effects. Who ever said new taxes place a higher burden on businesses and ultimately the consumer, they just aren't being honest, either.

The hilariously simple thing of it is, if diabetes and obesity rates do go down, the govt will not get that revenue.

I would actually grow wild hemp for livestock feed. They love that shite and it literally grows like a weed.

Do progressives and liberals not understand that if the government regulates what you can and cannot put in your body, then no one's body is their own. And if no one's body is their own, how can women then use the "it's my body" argument when voicing their support for abortion?

Are you expecting them to be consistent or something?

Did you feel the earth quakes the other day? Maybe you ought to sell and buy in the NC mountains for safety? You are right in the death zone of the super volcano, aye? I have never been to this part of the country, is it nice?

I have land in SCAR mountains and down in Middle Tennessee. Should be able to get some inshore fishing done if that map turns out to be accurate always wanted beachfront property.

Montana is God's country. Truly incredible. I only go in the winter though. I prefer my southern life and culture too much for a permanent relocation. I'm never leaving.

Oh and how far are you from Displaced Cuckeye's ranch? Have you visited to kill the coyotes?

Maybe if he sends the invite. I've got a great coyote gun.

Might as well get ahead of the game haha.

Dude, they are Marxists. Nothing they say makes any sense. It's a deranged philosophy.

This this this!

How can you tax an action/product to make make it cost prohibitive to stop using it AND collect the tax revenue from people using it?

I put in a bid for some acreage along the Elk River where it's really hilly. Good cattle country, and some good spots for terraced produce gardens. If the Elk becomes brackish I'm going to be pissed.

These kinds of taxes aren't about revenue. They are about control.

Why does more money confiscated by government equal healthier kids?

It's Boulder . Thirty square miles surrounded by reality. That's what you get in Boulder. Nannies. Nannies everywhere.

I was there from Friday to Monday. It was easily the biggest collection of pretentious people I've ever been around in my life. It's a shame that the people have ruined what is otherwise a nice area.

There are a ton of fit outdoorsy types there, and if you can just keep them on those topics it's not too bad. As you say, they are some uppity one-upping pricks sometimes though.

Go to Hispanic markets and all of their soft drinks are cane sugar.

I want a real scientific map of when things blow and shite hits the fan. I will bet some net geek made that map up and slapped US Navy on it.

So, another 12 cents on a can of Coke is going to discourage the simple and undisciplined poor folk from buying it? Yeaaahhh!

Not that I disagree with the Governmental carrot/stick approach; virtually no good choices in the current scenario. That is what Rule of Law is all about; forcing problematic and irresponsible people to do the right thing.
