The Dem Party has morphed into being a very strange animal. They cater to illegal aliens, gays, people who favor "trans rights" for children and, most of all, they have become an anti-white and anti-Christian party.
Throw all of that dysfunction into a political Gumbo, and Dems have painted themselves into a corner where being pro-America or proud of our nation runs counter to what they say they stand for these days.
Frankly, if we weren't a dumbed down country now I don't think Democrats could get 20% of the vote. This isn't JFK's Democrat Party.
