I think that the behavior by those not part of the trial is going to set some social precedents.
I mean... I personally would not date any of the women supporting this crazy person. Or any of them saying it was the husband's fault. Nor would I employ any of them if I were in the position to do so.
And I'm very curious to see whether any custody cases from divorces are going to come up from this.

They said in the video that even if pronounced not guilty, the judge is going to order her institutionalized.
It seems that's a bare minimum of 40 days, under evaluation.
If she or her attorney fail to prove that she's not crazy, or that she hasn't recovered, she is in for at least a year, where she will then come up for review yearly.
I don't see a whole lot of hope in that. The prosecutor making the point that she only "heard the voice" telling her to do this, ONLY at the point of time that she did this.
Her tune about all of this is going to flip, as soon as she's hospitalized.
Her suicide attempt left her paralyzed and in a wheel chair. So she at least brought one consequence upon herself in all of this.

One could make the argument that any murder is due to some type of mental illness, hormonal or emotional reaction, or personality disorder. No normal happy person just says “hey I’ll think ill kill someone today, that’ll be fun”

I was just saying yesterday or the day before on this board that I was surprised it wasn't being discussed because I think it's got massive political implications. Not the actual decision but the mere fact that so many women lost their fricking minds

This woman is pointing out how disastrous this is for women. Even says it makes “repeal the 19th” look like a reasonable argument.

True. If she gets off, could this be a new legal precedent to give anyone the license to kill under the auspice of mental illness, hormonal imbalance, or emotional reaction?

I never really understood the insanity plea as it relates to murder.
If you kill someone, it is either self-defense or you're not mentally right. To kill someone (other than self-defense), especially your own children, requires an element of insanity. That doesn't mean your arse shouldn't fry.

She's only paralyzed from the waist down. She still has feeling in the upper body. At a bare minimum, let's fix that.
