Amazing photos.
One thing to note is this is the second or third wave of troops because no one had time to shoot any pics during the first go. Also, the logistics of ww2 always blow my mind considering how many active theatres were active during the landing but also the fact we were in all of them.

Seeing this in color really makes it looks more real.

Are those paratroopers on a landing craft?

Definitely different Americans than we have today.

White supremacists
just kidding. These were real fricking men! Their blood and sweat paved the way the road for the great America that peaked in the mid nineties. Most of these folks are rolling in their graves at what the country has become.
Anyway, I salute them all.

The difference in men then and now. They were actually upset they couldn’t go fight for their country. I don’t think many people today would be like that

Filthy Thirteen, under Sgt. Jake McNiece. His men were honoring his heritage because he was part Choctaw, I believe. They also thought shaving their heads would be cleaner and make them look more intimidating to their enemies.
If memory serves, they were paratroopers who were dropped in right before the D-Day invasions so they could secure Allied supply lines and cut Axis ones. Sgt. McNiece ended up spending a full month behind enemy lines.

When AMERICAN MEN WERE MEN!
No SOY, tight jeans, nor people with penises wanting to piss in the women’s bathrooms in that group!

I know it’s highly inappropriate, but my ovaries just twitched.
Thanks for the info—that’s ... cool.

Remember these men when you start to watch the nfl this year and their satanic superbowl halftime shows, then do the right thing and turn it off.

There was recently a story on him.
He was of Indian heritage and prepped for battle as his ancestors did.
I will try to find the story and link it.
ETA - Thanks Deep Blue Sea.

Am a huge WWII buff & it's always great to see D Day pictures in living color. But am curious, I've never seen any similar pictures from the German's perspective of D Day.....realizing of course that they were fighting for their lives at the time. Looking out at that huge & seemingly never ending armada coming right at you must have mind shattering.
