Single greatest speech of any US President in my lifetime.

Reagan spoke it, and so it was.

In the other thread Powerbottom claims the October surprise from 1980 was real and admitted by a Lt. Gov of Texas at the time. A Democrat.

LOL. RWR the GOAT.

Interesting that the State Dept wanted Reagan to remove the “tear down this wall” line because it was “too provocative.”

They said this man had dementia, but facts are facts.

When you watch Reagan give a speech, his ability to speak clearly off the cuff in an extemporaneous manner is unmatched by any politician in the last 4 generations.

And when I say the same people tried to tell us Joe was 'sharp as a tack', I'm not simply talking about some in media, but some actual reporters & politicians who were still with us then and 30 years later claimed one man was unfit for office while the other was at the PEAK of his game.

The level of insincerity around D.C. is off the charts.

I was 8 when he was elected and the 80s was a great era to grow up. I remember his Bear in the Woods campaign ad.

A truly great man. Everyone was happy and living good. I’ve always thought- he would be disappointed with USA Today. I wish we could bring him back. But those were different times.

Man! Those were heady times. Pope John Paul, II, Ronald Reagan, and Margaret Thatcher knocked the Soviet Union flat on its worthless and immoral arse.

Eternal rest grant unto them, O Lord, and let perpetual light shine upon them.

Don't leave out Lech Walesa. He played a large part in freeing Poland.

We need something positive like the end of the Cold War to unite us again.

I wish I had been alive to see the fall of the wall and German reunification on live TV

For those who watched live, what was the feeling? Did you get somewhat emotional?

For a brief, minute moment in time, the United States was absolutely dominant in everything. 1984-1999 was peak America
