Sullivan is going to sentence Flynn. Book it. It will get thrown out on appeal, but it will show his handlers he's a loyal dog.

Okay but on what grounds?
Is Judge Sullivan saying he’s lost faith in the independence of DoJ as least insofar as Flynn's case is concerned? The former Special Counsel appointees resigned as DoJ counsel from the case I believe? Is that enough reason?

Yeah, I don’t know shite about this whole process but from the bits and pieces I’ve put together, it seems like Sullivan wants to be a martyr or something.

I'm completely confused... The judge, who is supposed to be neutral can essentially try the case on his own?

This is beyond playing games. Flynn was threatened by the government to coerce him into pleading guilty. And instead of being angry at the government, this fascist judge is more concerned with sticking it to the actual victim here.

I'm assuming on the grounds that there is a legitimate finding of probable cause that a crime was committed.
This isn't exactly a common occurrence. Not exactly sure who would present the government's case.

This is fertile ground for an appeal but the #1 goal is to delay. It keeps Flynn out of returning to aid Trump. It stalls for time in case Trump loses reelection. It potentially makes Trump issue a pardon which is bad politically.
Sullivan has to keep this up as long as possible.
