That doesn’t matter, the government didn’t set up the twitter. Trump did himself years ago before he was elected POTUS. It’s his twitter, he can do with it as he pleases.

Its a personal account, not the official twitter account of the President.

Exactly and because of that I troll the shite out of some local officials here

I get on Bernie's Facebook nearly every day and ask him a policy question that I know he either doesn't have an answer for , or doesn't want to answer, then I repeatedly @ him . He's never once addressed me.

He's a coward of epic proportions, and frankly so is Trump, blocking people from his Twitter lol

Here's the key though, this ruling doesn't mean that the platform itself can't block you. Meaning if you're just being an arse on Trump's Twitter , and Twitter blocks you, you're SOL. The ruling only prevents the POLITICIAN from blocking you.

Exactly. It's going to open a can of worms. If the Internet is now governed by the 1st, then Google, YouTube, FB are going to be in a world of hurt. They're going to have to scrap all censorship and shadow banning algorithms, etc.

Well, that and basically, taken to it's logical conclusion, it means that no elected Democrat can stop posts either. And, likely means no candidate democrat can stop posts.

I mean, maybe they think that's gonna be a good thing......but yeah........me thinks they're gonna not like it.

Violates viewpoints protected by the first amendment because his account is a public forum, huh? Now let’s see that same standard applied to publicly funded universities like Cal Berkeley silencing anyone with a conservative perspective

I'd LOVE for that argument to be made in front of the current Supreme Court.

Honestly, I think any politician should be allowed to block on their own social media.

Otherwise, their accounts will all become complete shite shows in very short order. They will become effectively useless.

Only applies to politicians being that they are public figures that work for the public sector

Any account he tweets on is "Official", like any plane he boards becomes Air Force One.

No it won't. A case was already heard on this very subject over a year ago. The judge issued the same ruling, it was appealed. The Appellate Court remanded to the lower court, meaning the ruling stood.

For the love of God , there was a thread on this here on this forum when it happened.

This will blow up the left's company line that private companies can do whatever they want with their employees when they express conservative views.
