Which is absolutely fine. I would much rather they not just be canned with no safety net. Some of these people may be a waste of taxpayer dollars, but not all. They don't all deserve to be treated as such.

My local radio news report also mentioned the judge requested the offer to be extended instead of expiring today, in case he rules in favor of Trump. So that's a good sign. So, sounds more like a pause, lets take a look, and not a "block".

You’re an idiot. And Bozeman fricking sucks.

Fine just pay them but shite all the systems down and take their access. They can sit at home and be paid until fired.

A mere 1% of federal workers have accepted the deferred resignation agreement. This ain’t going as they planned.
Posted on 2/6/25 at 2:38 pm to PNW
It’s not surprising most federal workers wouldn’t make it in the real world.
It’s cool though you simply strip all access to the ones you want gone and let them sit at home collecting a check until all this is sorted out and firing is sorted out.

At the moment the buy out would result in between 16 billion and 25 billion in savings. That a win.

Get another federal judge to stay the block.

The workers are hesitant because they don't know how official it is, they were wanted a court ruling or two before signing. This is from my SIL at the EPA. Normal turnover is 6%, so I'd expect the number to be much closer to that than 1%.

You know what else would save billions? Removing military presence. Y’all all wanna quit giving charity to foreign nations, but what about the charity disguised as our military? We are in over 80 countries worldwide sitting on our arse collecting checks.

Well yea, Musk lied to Twitter employees and couldn’t pay them out so why should the feds have trust in this process?

Is this on the basis of the budget not being funded. If it is i dont see how that holds. But if there are procedures in place for reducing the work force...i could maybe understand that. So some contract between the govt and Fed Employer Union. This another reason there should not be a union for the fed employee

Pretty much it.
They have regulations that need to be followed in how to reduce government employees. Some positions are excepted from those rules (senior executive service, excepted employees). There are others that are easier to fire or let go than others (folks close to retirement, probationary employees). Then there are competitive service individuals who are tenured and not close to retirement...these are the ones that have to go through a process as outlined by regulations and policy (VSIP, RIF)

Love how these are all judges on senior status.
Posted on 2/6/25 at 3:12 pm to Zgeo
these judges are getting ridiculous, we need to somehow limit their power, one judge should not be able to stop a president that won a landslide victory just because they don't like him
Posted on 2/6/25 at 3:13 pm to LSU6262
What about the people who accepted the offer and resigned? Now we know who to fire, and Trump can say “I tried to be nice, but now….

While I agree this would give the economy a short term hiccup.

The position is no longer needed.
