It’s even more pathetic to shutdown the government because democrats want give illegal aliens taxpayer funded healthcare but here you are, doing just that

I'm still confused about this part. What program are Democrats advocating for that funds Healthcare for illegal aliens?

Sounds like you need to read the last two weeks of PT to get caught up dude. You keep asking for repeat info that has been hashed out for a week. Or maybe you’re the new contrarian alter.

Well, if it isn’t “well sourced” why come on here and ask about something? Maybe do some research instead of playing gotcha with everyone

I'm truly not being a contrarian. Republicans say that Democrats want to fund healthcare for illegal aliens and Democrats claim that they are holding out to keep in ACA tax credits. I'm trying to figure out where in the middle the truth lies.

frick that. Trump needs to continue on his path and not wait on the courts.
Put the pressure on the other side, eventually if SCOTUS rules against him, let em sort it out later. The elected office of the president is the only elected official that all legally registered voters have the opportunity to vote for. Trump won the electoral and popular vote. Trump speaks for the majority of the people.

quote:

Presidential Authority to Eliminate Federal Jobs:Executive Branch Management:The president has plenary authority to organize and manage the executive branch, including restructuring agencies, reallocating resources, or reducing staff, as long as these actions align with existing laws and congressional appropriations.
This stems from the president’s role to "faithfully execute" the laws (Article II, Section 3), which includes overseeing federal agencies and their workforce.

Mechanisms for Eliminating Jobs:Executive Orders: The president can issue executive orders to streamline agencies, merge functions, or reduce staffing levels. For example, an order could mandate a hiring freeze or direct agencies to identify "unnecessary" positions.
Reorganization Plans: The president can propose reorganizing federal agencies to eliminate redundant roles, though significant reorganizations may require congressional approval under certain statutes.
Budgetary Influence: The president can propose budgets that reduce funding for specific agencies or programs, effectively forcing workforce reductions. However, Congress holds the power of the purse and must approve budgets.
Reduction in Force (RIF): The president can direct agencies to implement RIFs, following procedures set by the Office of Personnel Management (OPM), to eliminate positions deemed unnecessary

+4,000 government workers have been terminated so far, what the hell does this judge think she can do? Give them their jobs back? Cut payroll checks to keep paying them? WTH?

According to Dr. Turkey, they can lay off all the non-essentials, then if the judiciary interferes and wins, different people can be hired, because it’s only the positions that have to be reinstated.

I don’t know if it’s true but if I need to “cite” something, then the ignorant can go listen to his podcast.

Probably not I would guess. What have they done to you? As another poster said, it’s pretty pathetic that you would celebrate someone losing their livelihood. They didn’t ask for this.

You guessed wrong. They have done nothing….i mean literally…most of them do nothing. [

What's sad is that the government workers are sitting at home unable to work and not getting paid because the radical left is demanding that the Dims stand up to Trump and use the CR as a means to resist him.

I wish Trump would not give them any wiggle room...he keeps shouting out the stage directions during the play. Let the OMB cut the programs and then let them try and make it out to be political. Trump starts off by telling the Dems that he is going to fire Gov. workers who work in programs they like. This is going to make it harder for him to win in court.

Upvote and respect for linking me info instead of snide comments, but even this article hinges most of it's arguments over what is and isn't technically an illegal immigrant. I at least get why each side argues the way it does, so thanks sincerely for helping me clarify.

I feel like there's some middle ground between low info and terminally online which seems to be most of this board.

That's what I'm wondering. Who's losing their jobs? If they are civil service employees and the judge is ruling that they can't just be fired, I actually agree with her. But if they are unclassified employees and the judge rules that nobody can be fired, then that's overstepping her authority. No different than if Sid Edwards wanted to can a bunch of appointed employees, the 19th circuit doesn't get to step in and say, "nope you can't do that"

We need a ruling from SCOTUS on the narrow issue of whether district court rulings apply outside of their districts. I went to law school. I practice in Federal court often. When I go into the EDLA with a citation from another district or circuit, I do so for persuasive purposes only. I never expect to judge to look at it as binding.

E.g. I do not understand how a judge in shithole Portland can have any authority over anything tyat happens in Texas.
