Is she trying to say that white people didn’t invent the trans Atlantic slave trade
One could easily make the case that white people only participated in the trade - the blacks themselves are who made slaves out of free people.
They were already slaves when the white people bought them.
My biggest moral objection to America's role in the slavery issue is the aspect. The children of slaves were also considered property.
Without that aspect, I think slavery may not have become such an existential component of the southern economy.
The same people who 'tsk tsk tsk' at southerners today should take a look at who was buying the cotton. 'Northerners' would have done more to stop the spread of slavery by simply refusing to purchase cotton from slaveholders.

permit me a brief and very incomplete list of things white people have done or invented:
Euclidean geometry. Parabolic geometry. Hyperbolic geometry. Projective geometry. Differential geometry. Calculus: Limits, continuity, differentiation, integration. Physical chemistry. Organic chemistry. Biochemistry. Classical mechanics. The indeterminacy principle. The wave equation. The Parthenon. The Anabasis. Air conditioning. Number theory. Romanesque architecture. Gothic architecture. Information theory. Entropy. Enthalpy. Every symphony ever written. Pierre Auguste Renoir. The twelve-tone scale. The mathematics behind it, twelfth root of two and all that. S-p hybrid bonding orbitals. The Bohr-Sommerfeld atom. The purine-pyrimidine structure of the DNA ladder. Single-sideband radio. All other radio. Dentistry. The internal-combustion engine. Turbojets. Turbofans. Doppler beam-sharpening. Penicillin. Airplanes. Surgery. The mammogram. The Pill. The condom. Polio vaccine. The integrated circuit. The computer. Football. Computational fluid dynamics. Tensors. The Constitution. Euripides, Sophocles, Aristophanes, Aeschylus, Homer, Hesiod. Glass. Rubber. Nylon. Roads. Buildings. Elvis. Acetylcholinesterase inhibitors. (OK, that’s nerve gas, and maybe we didn’t really need it.) Silicone. The automobile. Really weird stuff, like clathrates, Buckyballs, and rotaxanes. The Bible. Bug spray. Diffie-Hellman, public-key cryptography, and RSA. Et cetera.

The American Indian had small gardens before the colonists arrived. But they never invented irrigation. So their encampmentes were built along rivers or lakes. The Caddo Indians had teepees along the Red River. So, their village discovered by the white settlers was a mile long and about 20 feet wide.
I don't disagree with you at all, but The history I'm referring to predates Europeans arriving in North America by a very long time. It was agriculture that ultimately led the their ability to build ships and come here.
Simply put, agriculture ended Europeans need to live a nomadic lifestyle as the whole world was doing at one point. They could grow and store their food, rather than constantly move and fight in tribes to find it. It allowed them to settle down. To secure themselves. Not having to find and fight for food allowed more "down time" so to speak. And that's what led to idle minds to think and invent better ways of doing even more things.

In the words of Thomas Sowell, a white European would have been more likely, on orders of magnitude, to catch malaria and die before he ever caught a slave, had he stepped foot on the African continent.

She is that for sure but she can't possibly believe half of the bullshite she spews. But, it sells and she limped along on MSNBC as long they could put up with her but I suspect she is doing just fine with her independent bullshite.
She doesnt just "know" it, she believes we're insane and dangerous for not believing her world view is objectively the correct one.
Until youve interacted with these educated and empowered fools to see how their empty arrogance overrides any objectivity or reasonable discourse its tough to understand how indoctrinated they are.
The coastal cities are filled with these people in basically every coffee shop and think we're facists for doubting them.

I wish more black Americans would embrace those things on your list, rather than try to become the next LeBron James.

Oh, I agree with your posts. Just trying to give some odd details. For example, these 'gardens' the Indians had just consisted of a few corn stalks with some weeds planted at the base. The weeds were observed to repel deer who otherwise would eat the corn.

Do you believe slavery is evil? Thank a random pasty-faced middle-class Englishman because that's who you learned it from.
Do you think an unattractive, unintelligent, hate-filled woman should be given her own media platform based solely on the color of her skin? Well okay, I'm putting that one on the Jews. White when it's beneficial.

Other than creating the banjo,
Oldest stringed instrument is from France, oldest frets are from China. Lute style was first invented in Mesopotamia.
Like most inventions the banjo was a combination of things that already existed and were known.
Unlike for example the telegraph or the telephone which both accomplished new things.
Joy Reid is an African who really does not like America, she happens to have been born here, but her family and culture are straight African.
The only Africans who won Nobel prizes in STEM were white.
She knows this, Africa hasn't produced half the STEM that African Americans alone have produced.
That eats her alive that her African people have accomplished nothing. So she and other afro centric racists have to make up wakanda bullshite.

I feel sorry for those blacks who have fully assimilated into productive society. I genuinely do. They've done nothing wrong, and still have to live knowing that they are represented by a faction (I'd say 70%) of their race who do them no favors and only harm. It's inescapable for them, other than to have extremely thick skin and an ability to brush things off. Those same people are bigger "enemies" to them than any white man can ever be.
Good post.
The Joy Reids and DeCarlos Browns of the world make my blood boil. Strangers will wonder if I’m like them.

I’m seriously proud and glad that I live in a country that allows people like Jo y Reed to say these things. A country that was civilized by Europeans who decided to fight for its liberty and freedom and eventually for all. Where dialogue and push back can happen without worry. In that vein Joy Reed couldn’t be more wrong and the facts can be found regarding IQ off various people and of the people who have invented the comforts that we all enjoy. Rather than stopping to criticize or over analyze or to even concern ourselves with what Joy Reed said, I would encourage all, no matter your color or nationality to attempt move forward and to bring on additional inventions to those that we have enjoyed from those that came before us. Let’s go forward with enthusiasm rather than dwelling in and arguing about the past.
