The Iowa senator Joni Ernst told reporters: “I feel it’s OK to go ahead and express what you feel is right to express and, you know, cancel culture is cancel culture no matter how you look at it.

“Unfortunately, I think there are those that are trying to silence others in the party.”

“Cancel culture” has become a shibboleth of the modern Republican party, repeatedly invoked when public figures become embroiled in controversy regarding opinions or statements deemed to be racist, sexist or otherwise unacceptable.

Cheney, of Wyoming, is expected to lose her No3 leadership role in a closed vote on Wednesday, to be replaced by Elise Stefanik of New York.

Cheney is a hardline conservative but has rejected Trump’s lie that Joe Biden won the White House through mass electoral fraud. She was one of 10 House Republicans to vote for his impeachment over the Capitol riot of 6 January.

Stefanik voted against the impeachment. She also objected to electoral results from Pennsylvania, one of the states challenged by Republicans in service of Trump’s lie.

Maybe Liz canceled herself due to her RINO policies?

Here we go, I can slowly see them starting to try and blame Republicans for cancel culture. The left never admits mistakes, they just blame their enemy for what they've done.

Someone tell this dumbass voting out a politician because they shite all over your values and what you believe in isn't cancel culture.

Being a politician shouldn't be a career.

This isn't like ruining the life of a private sector businessman.

These people are out of their minds. Republican "cancel culture" is a direct response to liberals cancelling everything conservative in the name of racism, sexism, etc. Republicans didn't start this shite but I sure hope they finish it.

Please show me where ONE mainstream media outlet has done even a rudimentary investigation into all of the OBVIOUS F*CKING EVIDENCE of voting fraud to disprove Trump's claims. If they can't, it's FAKE NEWS to say that Trump is in any way lying.

They doled out unlimited resources and personnel to "prove" Russian interference in 2016 to bolster the sHitlary LIE that Russia stole the election for Trump. And, despite finding ZERO F*CKING PROOF -- because there was NONE -- they still kept regurgitating the LIE for four f*cking years.

Ernst needs to know what Cancel Culture actually is. An elected official's constituents turning on her isn't cancel culture, it's EXPECTED when you fail to represent those you were elected to.

Lizzy was a real rock ribbed Republican when she was in Wyoming under the influence of local people of that fly-over state. However, when she got to DC and drank the swamp water she turned into a swamp creature and stupidly betrayed her Party and its leader.

What that tells me is that she never had a mind of her own and she only reflected what was around her.

Does anyone think House Dems would put up with it if a Dem in a leadership position blamed Biden for anything remotely as serious as Jan. 6?

If you’ll listen carefully, you’ll hear Senator Ernst redefining democracy as cancel culture.

The honorable senator Joni should do less feeling and more thinking.

That is an utterly stupid take by Joni.

Liz Cheney held a leadership role within the GOP and she was cow towing to the left and media. She can say what she pleases, but not as a leader in the caucus.

Liz hasn’t been cancelled. She’s been removed from leadership of a party where she does not represent the majority. She’s welcome to continue her anti Trump rhetoric, but not from a position of power inside the party that supports his governance.
