I'm fairly new to this, but why can't we get rid of him, Why does he have the say so in this?

There are 3 teams
Democrats 100% on board
Republicans 80% on board
RINO 20% that will vote with dems-seemingly just to undercut republicans

At this point, you’d have a hard time convincing me where we are now is better than just seeing how this might play out for a couple of election cycles.
It’s not like you are erasing political implications for enacting terrible shite.
frick it. Let it ride.

The juice ain't worth the squeeze. Whatever is gained will be lost from rural conservatives not sending mail-in ballots.
Careful what you wish for....

.....and therein John Thune and the Republicans will hand the results of midterm election to the democrats and ALL the disasterous results flowing from that. .
Elections have consequences. Stolen elections have catastrophic consequences.

Yes, but the choice is still their's. Obviously, most of them get siderailed either by greed with insider trading, kickbacks from foreign influencers, extortion because of their own perversion, etc. Basically, any motive besides representing their constituents. Thune has skillfully delayed and dodged passing the Save America Act despite over 80% of the people want the Act to be passed. Election integrity is crucial to a Democratic Republic. Our Republic is only as stable as the people who serve it are virtuous and have some measure of integrity. Most of our Congress is comprised of conniving, money laundering, perverts.

This is horrible news....this act is the MOST IMPORTANT bill in decades!

That would be the only silver lining in any of this.

John Thune is currently the poster boy for everything that's wrong with the corrupt, bought-and-paid-for political system in the cesspool known as Washington, D.C. - No SAVE Act (80% of America wants it) - No recess appointments - Attempting to impede the Grand Jury proceedings in Florida regarding John Brennan and others. I almost wish that I didn't give a damn
MF should be swinging from the gallows.

They can’t pass it, would destroy all of the “progress” they’ve made to destroy the country.

Same old sorry arssed, play not to lose Establishment Pub mentality.
I wonder when the last time was the Dems ever checked themselves and held back for fear of “long term consequences for progressives”.
Like others have already mentioned, let the Dems get back in power and need to eliminate the filibuster to achieve something they want. They’d get rid of it so fast, Thune’s head would spin.

So what’s our illustrious Mr Speaker have to say about this?

WRONG. All he has to do is make the filibuster in person only. No more filibuster just because you say it's a filibuster. Make those frickers physically hold the floor like in the old days.
Thune is just a sorry sack of shite.

That’s the least they could do for all that $$$

We're probably not getting the SAVE Act. Give me two years of gridlock and maaaaaybe we can avoid getting a new FISA domestic spying bill too. GOP needs its arse kicked hard enough that they have no choice but to get their game together before 2028.
