Pretty stupid but I think it is fair to say that the core constituency of the old Jacksonian Democrats is now a sizable portion of what makes up the GOP.
The GOP is not really the party they were upon their conception. Hell, there are things that the modern GOP claims to hate like the administrative state that are things that the post-Civil War GOP did a great deal to create by ending the old spoils system in government employment that was a hallmark feature of the Jacksonian Democrats in favor of merit-based civil service.
