re: Jimmy Kimmel gives sorry excuse for Melania 'widow' joke Blames Trump for Rhetoric

I don't clutch my pearls about jokes
That said, I don't think it's a "both sides issue" either. Trump is crass and ridiculous. Then mainstream commentators talk about his Nazi-ism and give voice to all the existentialist talk on the left. Biden doubled down on "trans genocide" when little kids were still in them morgue. The very rhetoric that got them murdered by a terrorist.
We have some of that on the right too, but I'd note that the right isn't regularly trying to assassinate people. The average person on the right using this rhetoric has a family and a career and plenty of things to tether the to reality. That's just not true for the average person using radical rhetoric on the left. They're living much more transgressive lives and the realities of that gap are coming out all the time.

There’s an obvious difference between “shite-talking” as you say and calling for outright violence against the president and your political opponents.
There is. And had Kimmel made this joke the day after the assassination attempt I wouldn't have made the comparison. Unless he's a time traveler and knew about the attempt, he made a joke about how Melania is secretly unhappy and Trump is old. Melania being secretly unhappy has been joke fodder for well over a decade. This wasn't a "hope he aims better next time" comment.

Again, show me what posts you are talking about. You just said "there aren't any" but in the same post are implying "well it's both sides". Give me a specific post.
This is like the CNN retards saying "both sides need to tone down the rhetoric" when every logical thinking human knows it is the hyperviolence and the instability of the left that is the reason for these assassination attempts. This isn't 2020-2024, where the Southern Poverty Law Center is paying the KKK so that the Democrats can then use the SPLC as the bases for "white supremacy is the greatest threat to this country". This is factual, not corrupt farcical leftist paid for propaganda.

Yes.
List the ones where he says he wants his political opponents killed or widowed.

An example...the show "Will and Grace" in the 1990s. It was funny. The show did a comeback and injected TDS politics and it was OMB show and failed...
The 1990s (or was it 1980s?) show, "Designing Women" had overt political overtures. If it returned with TDS it wouldn't be funny it would be the DNC.
Even with in the 80s and 90s the democrats were the Republicans of today...

It was a PR nightmare downright dumbassery imbecilic when Trump said what he did about Rob Reiner.
Considering Trump's connections in TV, movies....it's possible he might know details about Reiner and other folks that we do not.
When he has called out politicians for being thieves of taxpayer money or called out folks who investigated him....much of it proves to be true.
Not saying he's always right, but look at the Swallswell crap, Liz Cheney, Mueller, Ilhan Omar....Newscum, Tim Walz....

I didn't say it was, I'm talking about Trump and Kimmel and what they say, not what "the left" does.

Trump is crass and ridiculous.
Exactly, so why be surprised or offended when someone is crass and ridiculous right back at him? Just because the left and ABC have absurd double standards about this stuff doesn't mean I have to.

I said there aren't any that I get upset about. You felt the need to use the word "upset", so that's what I responded to.

No. People brought "sides" into it after it was pointed out, correctly, that Trump likes to aim the shite cannon at people. I haven't mentioned "sides", I certainly never said "well it's both sides".
Trump likes to talk shite, his followers LOVE that he talks shite, so why cry foul when others do it to him?
Posted on 4/28/26 at 8:41 am to cajunangelle
Would be very fun beating the shite out of him, and watching him flail like a girl trying to defend himself.

You will have to excuse Flats, after all he went to GT, but can’t understand the difference between social media posts and people actually trying to kill the President. They are exactly the same per moderates and the Left

Those?

He is a total scumbag. Nobody could've said that Michelle would soon be a widow without being fired and almost certainly never working in television or films again (not that anybody would put this no-talent bum in a film).
What's really needed is to go after his sponsors. Maybe somebody will step up and lead that effort.

Here's the big question -
Why is he even relevant?
Why is he even relevant?
Posted on 4/28/26 at 9:38 am to cajunangelle
While I don’t think Kimmel’s joke was THAT bad (I would never say it. And I didn’t laugh at it.), I also think he’s full of shite in his explanation about it.

Yes. Do you have some examples of what Kimmel is referencing that don’t involve a country that we are at war with?
Exactly.
