Imagine dumping a speaker with no real plan in place.
And many here applauded it. These people are doing the work of leftists
The speaker they dumped was doing the work of leftists, so what's the difference?

How do you know what back door deals and jockeying was happening?
With Gaetz?
Confirmation you don't comprehend what you're reading. No shock you've gone full GOPe stooge

With Gaetz? Its a publicity stunt. He had no plan in place. It was obvious from the start.
Publicity stunt? Again I ask how you can say he didn’t have a plan? What if Gaetz’s plan was to work on a Jim Jordan type getting elected? Just because it didn’t work out doesn’t mean it wasn’t a plan. Nor does it mean he should have accepted the original lies McCarthy told him to get his vote from jump to become Speaker? You seem to conveniently overlook this part of the equation.

You’re right. It was just a really bad plan.

Jim Jordan stepping down from Speaker race. Total disaster
I don't miss the House doing work. They can frick around/not get anything passed for eternity and the country would be the better for it.

LMAO at all the pearl snatchers on this thread!!
Get a grip people, the less the government does the better!
The Republican Party is a fricking mess, no doubt! Full of swamp creatures just like the democrats!
Let’s see what happens

This situation has no impact on what the government does. They just aren’t doing it today. They’ll do it all as soon as they are back.

Who sided with Democrats to remove McCarthy with no real plan?
Oh so now you’re saying a “real plan”…again conflating a real plan with a successful plan. I’m saying many “unsuccessful plans” are quite real as well.
And don’t say this isn’t important because it’s the basis many of you centrist Republicans are using to bash Gaetz with…that he didn’t have a plan…rather than seeing his plan was done in by YOUR crew, ergo they shoulder most of the original and continuing blame in this situation.

I called this last week and am remaining steadfast in my belief that Scalise will ultimately be named the next Speaker if he wants it.

Again, does the same hold true for Bacon and the latest round voting against Jordan? Are they now working with Democrats ??
And your last statement is the reason the Republicans are in the position that we are in right now …. You guys actually care what Democrats think of you. It’s like you want them to like you so you are part of the big club. Pathetic

Where did Gaetz go? Who did he push as a replacement?
McCarhy got the votes. No one else has. That alone is more than any of the others are doing.
Gaetz had not advanced the conservative agenda. Gaetz has not pushed the party forward. Gaetz has not really accomplished anything. My hope is things won’t get worse.

Gaetz exposed the uni-party for everyone to see.

Im not bashing McCarthy's removal, I'm bashing the utter lack of organization and plan.

Not necessarily…maybe it turned bad because some limp wristed Republicans turned what was a good plan into a bad one.

As if Gaetz didn’t know how this would go?
Everyone knew how this would go. Everyone.
And yes, if Gaetz truly had no idea how the conference would vote after removing McCarthy, it was an awful plan. There was never any chance that it wouldn’t be a clown show—-and all of it to gain nothing.

Have they voted yet today? Did he step down before another vote?
