Since Hollywood is so "brave" by doing this kind of thing I'm sure we can expect a movie about Muhammad played by a Black Lesbian anytime now, right?

Someone tell Scorsese to nut-up and make a movie about mohammed and his child-bride......
And make mohammed flamboyantly gay.

As far as I can see he’s making a movie set in the present day about Christ but I don’t see anything about it being a gender reversal story or Emma Stone and Jennifer Lawrence being involved. Scorcese is a practicing Catholic, and I wouldn’t put it passed him to make something blasphemous in the name of art (he did make Last Temptation after all), I genuinely don’t think he’d make a movie that centers women or cast two actresses he’s never worked with before to do it since he hasn’t done those things in the past.

It’s not much to look at. She’s on a steady decline. I was disappointed.

Good luck finding an audience for this.

Going for the massive feminist Christian market, I see.

How the fawk is this a political post??? Some of y’all use the political board like it’s a general board.

So a completely ridiculous storyline being set of a religious narrative. I don’t see their marketability as Christian’s won’t see it & the woke people obviously don’t believe in religion. Only people that see money on this are actors and set workers. Vendors better get their money upfront

I can see it as a political post because the culture wars are political and this is a Hollywood left/feminist/religious thing which therefore makes it pretty inescapably political, or at least it would if it were true and not some completely made up bullshite designed to enrage people here

You may need to go read up on ole Marty. He's a Catholic
No judgement if he is but I wouldn't say this, but he doesnt sound or speak loke it anymore. Raised Catholic yes....

True, but he's pretty harsh on faith, especially...

While it's always good to watch, I'm not sure it REALLy celebrates the faith.
Better said, I wouldn't go to Scorcese for spiritual enrichment, more like understanding dissension and guilt that draws one away.
And this sounds like more of the same.

He actually talks about it pretty regularly. He didn’t practice or believe in it for about thirty years and came back to it in the late aughts. I would say his beliefs are heterodox, but he is a practicing Catholic, and it is important to him.

Amen.

This probably goes too far. There used to be a time when artists could make serious works dealing with complex Christian themes, which Scorcese at least attempts to do. The fact that is can cause dissension has more to do with our post-Christian culture at large than anything Scorcese has actually done.

“This” doesn’t exist. There’s no link, no news story, no nothing. Google it or any combination of names associated with it and nothing comes up. The OP made this thread to get everyone riled up about something that doesn’t exist
