I just read this and found it fascinating. Maybe there is something fishy going on, but I think it’s real! As terrible as it would be if this was done by mistake, the actual discussion is level-headed and thoughtful. This will be fun to follow.
One question I have is how often commercial apps and texts are used when they shouldn’t be. Is it a pain to have to use secure/-approved sources all the time? I’d love to hear from someone who’s been I government and might have some insight. (I get that Signal apparently has some level of security but according to the article it’s not an approved source of communication).

The Biden appears to be the opposite of the leader appointing yes men. Instead, the administration under the president appeared to set policy without the president even knowing about it! If anything, Biden was the yes man.

It has already been confirmed by the NSC, WH and Vance's spokesman. So apparently the SecDef, VP, the National Security Advisor and others were using freaking Signal to communicate Nat Sec strategy and the National Security Advisor invited the journalist into the chat. If this doesn't piss you off and want heads rolling then I don't know what to say.

Hillary Clinton, Barack Obama, Joe Biden, Susan Rice, Valerie Jarrett must agree with this, since they used unsecure email accounts not only to conduct official business, but they did so under pseudonyms and could skirt FOIA requests in the process.
We had insiders tell us during the first Trump admin that they were aware of Obama-era FBI/DOJ folks who took it one step further and used GMail's Drafts folder as a means of back & forth communications without ever actually sending the emails.
If memory serves, however, Signal is end-to-end encrypted among users of a given group.

I guarantee you that almost every important country's security agency has full access to Signal.
