This.

It’s baffling how someone with a very promising future and (despite being trashed on this board) a record of actually doing a lot of good things could be so bad at reading the tea leaves and be so easily swayed by the power brokers that are slowly being pushed farther and farther into irrelevancy.

Anyone could see that trying to get in front of Trump this election was a fools errand. All he had to do was say he wasn’t running, endorse Trump and he would’ve been loved by all going into 2028 regardless of the outcome.

These consultants are idiots.

No, it hasn’t.

I’m going to guess Sundance without looking.

You’re only saying this because Trump got indicted.

I said this way before Trump got indicted.

And on this issue $269 million. I wish Sundance would have broken down the source of that money a little. I do know that number includes the NeverBackDown PAC that started with $200 million and money from the RGA.

But if money was the answer half of $269 million should have given Ron the lift he needed.

Desantis biggest dumb move was to differentiate himself by declaring war on OMB. Love Trump or hate him this is the reason and Desantis should have stood tall from the beginning and say while Trump has done good I want to expand with my own way. He would at least not thrown down the gauntlet

Do we need to pull the quote again where you said you wished Trump would hang it up and pave the way for Ron in 2024?

Don't forget how poon is undefeated. His wife swayed him. The power brokers may have latched onto her ambitions to corral him.

He never declared war on MAGA outside of a single comment that was taken out of context - listless vessels.

He also did exactly what you are saying he should have done. DeSantis started being attacked by Trumps days before DeSantis' reelection so no matter what DeSantis did he would be attacked and considered an unloyal, groomer, democrat, GOPE monster

It’s been the reality for quite awhile now.

I agree DeSantis would’ve been better served to wait. No doubt.

The guy is still one of the best conservative governors this country has had in recent memory.

Is the point to try and obliterate his future for daring to run against GOB?

If so, for what purpose?

Trump’s not going to be around forever.

Roe was holding DeSantis back. Hurt his image.

The real DeSantis needs to be released as a Hail mary attempt to save this campaign. Too little too late.

Ron spent 269mil on Orange attack ads but the cult cries about 30mil against him

Yup the Vivek strategy he would be tied or ahead imo if he laughed about it and had fun. Say "Don can be my VP" then he either lost in a tight race they couod just team up. Ron proved he hires like shite with his ppl around him. The cult excuses all his flaws

Yup...and the Roncucks can't see past their noses, and accept this should have happened.

(I think I did that right, cause they sure are a bitter bunch)

Ron choosing Jeff Roe over Generra Peck was the fatal mistake.

Peck had been with him forever, knew what Ron's strengths and weaknesses were. Jeff was talentless Ozempic slob with a bag of money, who's only win in politics was riding Youngkin's coattails in 2021. He is the GOP's version of Mark Penn.

Having said all this, DeSantis can certainly regroup for 2028. Talented governor who learned a big lesson about who he needs to surround himself with and take advice from.

Nothing Trump has done in his campaign has affected Ron’s campaign.

That’s a tough reality to take if you’re a Trumpfag. But it is the reality.

All of Trump’s poll gains are directly tied to his indictments.
