I think its debatable whether or not its good for society now that we don't really do that anymore to kind of re-start the process. Arguments that it will deter people don't really move me a whole lot personally, and for radical Islamists they don't give AF if you kill them anyway.
We should have never stopped having public executions in the first place, just to be clear. My point (really its more a question/discussion prompt) is whether or not the benefits outweigh showing this to a bunch of people who aren't used to seeing it. Is that really good for them, or us?

That statement was not a "call out".

Do I wish we could avoid this because people wouldn't do these sorts of things? Sure. But I don't live in that world.

I’ve seen enough people die in ems I wouldn’t watch it either

I didn't mean it to be a direct call out. I meant it more so as a Marine saying he wouldn't watch the livestream, reflects on Hegseth.
It sounded good when Hegseth said this, it indeed is righteous to show enough is enough. I am all for the sentiment.
It isn't going to happen. Especially since Vance said this.

Well they could practice by watching Police Activity on YouTube.

But they are used to seeing it. They just aren't used to seeing it happen to people who deserve it.

ISIS and Iran would be proud of our public executions. Maybe this common ground will bring Iran back to the table and we can get a deal done.

Why is it soft to not want to watch someone die?
Because your enemies have zero problem with killing you let alone watching. Stop being a pussy. You’re not watching “someone” die. You’re watching a demented Islamic monster that killed over a dozen of your country’s soldiers in an act of complete cowardice and malice. Harden up sweetheart.

FYI, there are three people on federal death row and four on military death row. That's seven total. And Khalid Sheik Mohammed hasn't been brought to trial. So in terms of a deterrence, there just aren't a lot of people.
Only two on military death row are jihadists.

Watching death is no sign of being a good man or good women.

Not surprising. He's soft

I’m indifferent to live-streaming it, don’t really care either way. If you want to watch it cool. If not, fine too. I won’t but I agree a military member should have firing squad if they want. I’m sure I’ll eventually see it but won’t be watching live.
