JBE: 5 days until his Re-Election

African-Americans accounted for 31% of all voters statewide during the seven days of early voting during the runoff, compared to only 25% of all voters during the primary early voting period, according to John Couvillon, a pollster and demographer in Baton Rouge.

“It makes him the odds-on favorite to be re-elected,” Couvillon said of Edwards. “He’s in a much better position now than I would have thought a week ago.”
quote:
Monroe’s event seems to have produced only a temporary Trump bump. Couvillon said 10,000 more black people voted on Saturday compared to Friday while 3,000 fewer whites voted on Saturday than the day before. “That white turnout went in reverse caught my attention,” Couvillon said.

5 days until LSUgrad1988 goes away and stops spamming the board.

Turnout in rural areas versus turnout in urban areas will decide the election

So African American voters can only vote for JBE? Is that their only option on the ballot?

Early voting can be useful at times to handicap races, but it is very foolish to try to outright predict an outcome based solely on early vote
Did you people learn nothing from 2016? One of the reasons Hillary was so high in the betting markets was because she was running up the score in early voting in key states. It turns out what happened was that her campaign was simply eating into Election Day voters, instead of turning out new voters.
The reason why early voting can be such an unreliable indicator is because we have no clue what Election Day voters will look like. We have no clue if this “surge” in early voters is simply JBE cannibalizing his voter base early.
Not a single legit election analyst, whether it be nate silver, nate Cohn, harry enten, dave washerman, etc would EVER use early vote to call an election

The schemers should not count their money yet.
Maybe this news will motivate the republicans and independents to turn out for Rispone.
We made it through EWE, we can make it through JBE if we have too. There will be fewer and fewer business people if JBE wins that make it through--they will continue to invest elsewhere. They will be more and more leeches. One would think the legal community would be saturated by now.
JBE hates business people unless the business involves the government class and reaping government contracts or government licenses or government roads. He can get a cut from those businesses.

It's called posting a legitimate news story, not spamming. Click the link dumbass!

The article is legit, your title is silly

I think JBE will be re-elected.
A shame really.
But that’s Louisiana.

All you've posted are pro-Edwards bits. You're either a paid shill or an unpaid shill, either way you're a shill and thus your threads are looked at through that lens (and you have none other than yourself to blame for that).

I think we are severely underestimating the amount of blacks who left the plantation post 2016.
Something about chickens and hatching.

There is no way to sugar coat this. We are down 40k votes. We will need massive red voter turnout on 11/16. If you are reading this and decide to stay at home, that is basically a vote for JBE.

Aren't you embarrassed by this kind of casual, open racism?
Do you talk this way in public too?

There will be a large increase in turnout . Bel edwards needs 30% of the white vote in order to win . I think he got that in the first round, however, the substantial new white vote in the general is going to vote for Rispone. Probably 75-25 in my estimate, easily offsetting the increase in the black vote. Rispone 52-48 election day.

I know of a few hardcore Trump supporters who are voting for JBE because "he's a nice guy". I wanted to frick their world up.

It's all about clarity. Voters know what they are going to get with JBE, he has a record to view as governor the past 4 years. Now with Rispone, since he has no record, he should have said how he would govern differently from JBE. He should have had a specific platform not just generalities. I will lower auto insurance rates. Okay. how exactly? I want a constitutional amendment. Okay, what is it you wish to change constitutionally? I can get the backlog completed on highway infrastructure, without raising taxes. Okay, how will you fund it? If Rispone had of offered plans, specifics, etc. I may have considered him. All he's done is given promises with no explanation as how he will accomplish his goals.

I, too, think Rispone pulls it off, but it will be way too close. Louisiana voters have the be the biggest bunch of fricking idiots in the country.
