China does not own "most of our debt". In fact only about 3.3trillion of our debt is foreign and chini owns about 859 billion. The vast majority is held by financial institutions a lot of it in your pensions etc. in the US.

But china does owe US citizens, with compounded interest probably better than a trillion. The US govt convinced a lot of citizens to buy bonds in china before ww2 cranked up, the govt was forced to Taiwan and the current ccp says its not their problem.

Now instead of making sweetheart manufacturing deals in the US for taiwan semiconductor companies, why dont we tell them to pay us the trillion they owe us and pay us for keeping Xi off their front yard.
